ADVANCED SYSTEMS
3K40 Targeting System: Used generally on military bases, the software allowed multiple weapons to convert onto various targets or concentrate fire on a single target. This is to help supplement the 840.z Holo-Targeting Suite when ordered to converge all weapons on one enemy point. (x)
840.z Holo-Targeting Suite: In conjunction with the targeting computer, the 840.z Holo-Targeting Suite allowed improved accuracy for gunners on the Jade. This was a necessary upgrade as the targeting computer itself was strained from the large amount of weapons systems, the 840.z allowing it to balance out the strain. (x)
Crystal Grav Trap: First time use for Have Gun Will Travels products, mainly to ensure that those hidden during patrols can be detected still through sensors. (x)
Hyperdrive Signal Interceptor: The Hyperdrive Signal Interceptor detects flucations in the local area though not of its destination nor the type of ship. This sensor is used for the purposes of intercepting or patrolling heavily guarded sections of space. Also used to prevent being ambushed via hyperspace, giving some notice for stations to be at the ready. (x)
Ion Shield: When the Deflector Shields fail, the Ion Shield system will come online to stop Ionic damage for a small period of time. This can prevent the Jade-class Assault Cruiser from being disabled from a barrage of ion batteries for a short period of time. (x)
STRENGTHS
- The Fully Armed and Dangerous Assault Cruiser: Twin Proton Beam Cannons, Heavy Tractor Beams to hold them down, this can be very dangerous in a fight as it can easily destroy ships smaller than it and sometimes larger than itself, most of the time from a few kilometre distance.
- Fast Firing Proton Beam Cannons: It does not need to charge long to fire again as its entire purpose is to fire rather quickly to destroy ships quickly or severely damage them.
- Tractor King: With four heavy tractor beams and twelve regular tractor beams, if the Jade wants something of its size to stop running away, it will make sure it won't leave their sight.
- Exposed Rear: No defenses in the rear and can easily be shot in that section.
- No Hyperdrive: Mainly for planetary defense so it really cannot travel anywhere to support.
- Reactor Core Exposed: The most dangerous part of the ship and it is exposed. If shot enough, it will explode and destroy the entire Jade-class Assault Cruiser in one go.
This was a madmans creation to this question: "Well there is not enough firepower for a long range combative ship! We need more!" The challenge was set for Haon Hafey and he decided to put that theory to the ultimate test. Seeing that Proton Beam Cannons were used at him during the assault on Ord Mantell against him, he decided in kind to use such a design in his own projects but to a more extreme effect. Instead of it being on Battlecruisers or Star Destroyers, he would solely have it on a Cruiser. This was designed to have the reactor take almost the entire hanger bay in one move along with taking most of the engine compartment. With things shoved around, more maneuvering jets were added to the sides to increase movement on turning so it can be in the firing arc whenever it required it to be.
Adding things such as the Hyperdrive Signal Interceptor, 840.z Holo-Targeting Suite and various others, he made sure that it would be well protected as well as properly equipped. During this, he knew part of the Motherborne Project was to remove the hyperdrive which gave them the needed room for the reactor to be installed. Even the bridge was allowed to be lowered, nearly now impossible to find but just like other issues, the rear became another annoying issue to deal with later on. However with that, the Proton Beam Cannons were allowed to fire faster than usual, allowing it to fire at a target every half minute to full minute at a target. A resounding success even though not as many turbolasers were installed to combat said ships up close, having to rely on being in front of the targets. With that said, having several heavy tractor beam generators to hold a target in place then fire, made up for it in a hurry and with multiple extra tractor beams added in, it can catch missiles and other starfighters and quickly dispatch with any of its dual point defense lasers.
As the Jade-class Assault Cruiser was made, a unique note was that it was not only expensive but very difficult to manufacture. It was then noted to become a key feature to his large project as well as possibly the jewel to lead the planetary defense fleets during a crisis and through command structure. One thing Haon knew for sure though, whoever ran into it first would be understandably terrified the moment the twin proton beam cannons opened fire upon them.
