CONTENT INFORMATION
Contained here are the occurrences and information about the drengir from what we were able to learn about them. Appearance wise at first they appear as plants... and then they move and strike. Vine like tentacles, maw like mouths filled with teeth and bodies covered in leaves and thorns. They were thankfully usually in greens and brown colors to blend into forests which let them stick out in other areas not heavily shadowed. Their bodies were seeped heavily in the darkside and it withered, killing plants that were around them. their presence when they were awake creating a sense of dread and foreboding that was the darkside of the force often described by other force sensitives like a shadow.... however we do know a few other things, they were born from seeds and their hove mind while strong and able to overwhelm mirrors the kiltiks creating joiners.
The thorns and vine like tentacles would invade the orifices of their victims and drain them of vitality before devouring their bodies. Based on it nothing was put to waste and as they were gathered their influence could become stronger against those with weaker minds. Their hive mind had a weakness like most hive minds and that was their Great Progenitor, the leading mind and it could control all of them, communicate and stall them. They could mimic to mock and trick others using the bodies of those they were absorbing and their regenerative capabilities were powerful, often becoming two when sliced with a lightsaber or regenerating from blasters. Hard vacuum was one of the more effective ways to stop them. The worlds they have been seeded upon appear often blighted and sick while they are alive.
Our earliest records of the drengir are based on the wild space world of Mulita a world that is difficult to reach but the creatures had spread off finding their way to a planet where they met the Amaxine who constructed a space station to fight and contain them. The drengir infiltrating and spreading to the station killing the Amaxine on board and surprisingly it was the intervention of the sith who were attracted by the darkside presence who contained the drengir. With four massive binding statues, that put the drengir in stasis and seemed to have another effect. The hive mind slept, it was quiet for thousands of years allowing the galaxy to grow over them and the seeds. The station would eventually become its own thing as a waypoint between the core worlds and the frontier by the Byne Guild.
By the time of the High Republic the star in the system was on its last time before going supernova. The solar flares that it gave off could cause disturbances and the jedi who found the station after the Great Hyperspace Disaster, that saw debris coming out around the galaxy. The jedi discovered runes, lockers and scattered tools. The shadow in the reports were paart of the drengir and the life on the station had disrupted the stasis fields of the statues. The jedi were given vision and the shadow moved, belying an intelligence even in the stasis statues as they took them too Coruscant to be purified but records indicate that they were not the problem and removing them unleashed more from the station and on the planet below. Investigation led to several pursuing the jedi in pods and being flung into hyperspace.
The threat only grew, with the Nihil, emergences and the great disaster a new threat was the last thing they needed. The jedi were stretched thin compared to other times and this wasn't just a sith threat or grand army... pockets of danger and the jedi flagship the grand Ataraxia could only do so much. Even Avar Kriss could only offer so much guidance, as the Republic fair on Valo was seen as a needed event to happen to show galactic unity. THe Nihil using Drengir seeds to spread them across the galaxy and make future threats that could and would prove even worse. The attack on Valo was of a magnitude no one had expected. The Supreme Chancellor herself and was injured being seen in the arms of a jedi master after the attack and many more were killed or injured.
The attack on the fair went far and was used to cover the emergence of the nameless another threat covered within here. We have managed to piece together a few things but the jedi managed to connect with the root mind of the drengir getting to their home world. The great progenitor was subdued. THe galactic Harvest stopped for the time being as Avar had seen others suffer through it. ANother jedi master who joined the root mind itself was tainted with the darkness and bond twins had seen even worse. THey hadn't managed to kill the progenitor just force it and by extension all the others into hibernation for a time. A legendary bitter harvest a story written about hadn't come to pass as far as the galaxy was concerned and the drengir stayed asleep for some time.
At least that was the hope but reports over the years have seen them. On Atrisia and Kashyyyk but also under two instances involving
Ashin Cardé Varanin
which is interesting. THe involvement unknown whether she unleashed them or was fighting against them.... the once sith empress can be complicated at times. We have reports and instances of it as several were involved in a class to learn to fight the root mind. I myself encountering them for a time on the world of Gallos a darkside jungle in the far-flung regions of sith space. Further reports are always there from heralds who fought them

with the sith empress. The root mind seemed to be quieted down eventually and the progenitor stopped again going to sleep but we cannot be entirely certain. There are more dangerous things on their world when they are not awake.
We have worked on it to develop what countermeasures we can in it. From shielding to scanners to developing from genetic material, the Drengir Class Hybrid Biot is another that we have worked on and there is one other option but it would only be a last resort. Contact

with a diplomatic offer. The Drengir pose a threat to much more then just one side or the other. A harvest would be dangerous for everyone and those sith statues were of a design no one else has been able to replicate. He might have information where to look to replicate it or know where they are so we can try and reverse engineer the design. Worse case scenario is he says no and there is a chance the great progenitor will always remained in hibernation which is beneficial to all or it will be awakened by someone foolish and he'll have those blackblades gaining new experience.
