STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Jakarn is well versed in explosives, and is incredibly well read. His strategy is rarely matched by others without formal training. That being said, he is plagued by indecisiveness and guilt over his past actions, and when flared up is prone to violence and snap judgments.
APPEARANCE:
Jakarn is, in a word, weathered. His skin is wrinkled and sunburnt, his hair raggedy and somewhat unkempt, his face only and his clothes musty and dusted over. He has a tendency to wear slightly baggy clothing, underneath which he stores large amounts of explosives and arms.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born into a small uncharted mining colony on an outer rim asteroid, Sharn Millorkin spent most of his childhood straining himself under the cruel conditions the labor faced. The pay was non-existent, the work was hazardous, and the owners cruel. No information, or staff was allowed to enter or exit the mine, under pain of death. Everybody was born into work, and died in the mines or as a result of the mines. Jakarn's father died in a mining accident when he was young. His mother passed away not too long after, due to inhaling the residue of the explosives used on the base. Left with only his childhood friend, Gildor, for support, Sharn began his mining career at the age of 12.
From the age of 24 onward, things seemed to go south. Due to the same volatile explosive substances that claimed his mother's life, Sharn and Gildor, along with many others on the colony, became less stable and more violent. The first of many conflicts between Sharn and Gildor was over a young lady they were both attracted to. In their mind altered state, the pair agreed that the best solution would be to share her, sparking a minor scandal among several of the more conservative miners on the base. The duo began distributing smuggled pamphlets and holocrons stolen from the few food merchants that visited, hoping to inspire action towards improvement of the mining conditions.
It was successful beyond their wildest hopes. The miners entered into a full scale violent revolt. Unfortunately, mining charges and lasers were no match for the actual military weaponry and funds that the owners had access to. A mercenary guard was hired to overview the miners in order squash any additional dissent. Sharn refused to stop distributing information, and managed to successfully conceal his identity for a time.
This anonymity didn't last. It was a typically cold afternoon in the facility mess, when, out of the corner of his eye, Sharn noticed Gildor and a pair of mercenaries. His friend was bruised, bloodied, and seemed to require the mercs support to so much as walk. Gildor performed a circuit of the mess, nodding at individuals who were promptly summoned to the owners' office. Every man sent was involved in the information ring. Sharn didn't know if it was the mining fumes or the anger that sparked his next action, but either way, the consequences were hard to live with. He untucked a small blaster carbine he kept in his waistband, turned around, and shot the two mercenaries, then Gildor, before blowing his way out of the base and launching himself out in an escape pod.
Sharn then began his life as a wanderer, changing his name to Jakarn to evade detection. entering and leaving conflicts. He'd made many powerful friends over the years, and even more powerful enemies. The man wasn't sure if he followed conflict or if conflict followed him, but it had the same net effect. At this point, all he wanted to either retire or die.
SHIP:
Jakarn is without a ship at the moment, and gets around by hitching rides and stowing away on freighters, in order to avoid detection.
