Jal Shey ?

Hello !

I am looking to throw my character into what is generally known as a more of a support role. Heals, Buffs and all that.

So, here comes my request: Is there anyone that has a certain degree of knowledge with the imbue of items, not only the properties given to the Force Imbued blades but beyond that to the properties that Jal Shey users gave to various items ? It is a rather wide and unexplored area with vast opportunities which I am to enrich.

Teach me.

P.S Alchemy is also welcome, although I assume it is more of a dark-side thing.

P.S 2 Beware I have mostly played NFUs throughout my Star Wars RP history so my knowledge about FUs is limited.

We all have our own neat little spin on things when it comes to healing and such too.

Maybe we can all have a thread where we go over stuff.

I am indeed interested to branch out, I will be reading over the thread you hyperlinked me the next hour or so. My idea is somewhat to find a way to combine being an apothecary with a Light Side crafting art but as I said my knowledge with FUs is limited. Perhaps I can finally expand it.

Apothecary, eh? Well, there's a massive amount of Force-related critters -- I built a Tier 6 off weaponizing their leather and stuff -- but I'm not so great with plants, especially light side stuff. For dark side, there's fear moss, dart flowers, murakami orchids, all kinds of things. I'm sure there are light side plants, or they could be made in Codex.

Apothecary, yep! I will be using extensively the codex for plants and such but all in time that is logical for this character's development. My main objective is imbuement with healing/buffing properties, be it mental or physical. Long live the underplayed Support!

Ive been known to dabble from time to time. Just tag me, I'll see if I have time to respond. Like Mara mentioned, there are numerous branches that pull from Jal Shey (gesaril carving, felucian skullblades, wan-shen, etc.) and work towards creating its own school for lightside alchemy.

The real fun part is that nearly all of those crafting traditions developed independently and work according to vastly different rules. So combining them can produce all kinds of weird effects. That, and since a bunch of these were developed by obscure species/cultures in the middle of nowhere, who knows how many others there might be, buried in obscure canon or waiting to be fleshed out on Chaos.
 
IF you ever need a posting partner, Ijaat is more of the smithing type from his old NFU days, and a bit of budding Mechu-Deru, but I'd throw some posts your way on joint learning threads. He has learned some nifty bits for Force Powers. I also have a bit of knowledge for Alchemy that works without the Innocent Blood part that ties it so closely to the Dark Side. It's still not lightsided, but it might help...

PRetty exhaustive guide on the non evil plants and such in Star Wars. Friend gave it to me who writes here a bit. It's not complete or comprehensive(lacks recent things like Ankarres Wood/Tea), but it's more than enough to get you a good start. Good luck!
