Tertius C. Nargath
The Third

SPECIAL FEATURES
- Prior to any use and adjustments, the Janus Polymer is considered superstate fluid, having both properties of a solid and a liquid, allowing it to be easy to contained and transported.
- Extremely malleable in any temperature prior to curing, allowing for it to be sculpted into any form one would desire.
- Depending on the curing process, this material can behave like skin, in that it can feel and be breathable as basically any sort of skin.
- Programmable Biomolecules can adjust the color and texture to suit the needs of the users.
- Highly flexible material, with a wide range of uses.
- Thermal resistance, radiation resistance and waterproof with Leidenfrost principle.
- Easy to mold and cure into shape, with programmable biomolecules for texture, color and feel.
- Perfect for live masks, envirosuits, etc due to feeling like just another layer of skin
- Can't be recycled after curing.
- Little to no kinetic or energy resistance.
- Rather toxic prior to curing, leading to things such as rash, extreme itching, irritation and inflamation of the skin upon unsupervised contact.
As part of the N&Z Laboratories extensive research on the use of Biomolecules within their Liitius facility on New Cov, the researchers understood that with biomolecules being so versatile in their inherent properties, they could function well as a piece of a puzzle to the Janus Polymer research. This research was intended to create a malleable substance which could be cured into shapes and used in such ways as to create an effective replacement for expensive leathers, cloths and silks used for upholstery, providing what is essentially a hypoallergenic material for use in homes and ships.
However, it was discovered that when the biomolecules were added, the material could also be used to create live masks, to make a perfect substance to allow people to hide their face or simply wear another to hide themselves. A good thing for the medical applications, as it could be used to hide heavy scarring or other socially detrimental flaws, but even more useful for the more obscure secret agencies around the galaxy, granting them the ability to create near perfect "faces" for their agents, though true artists are necessary to really make masks that can't be distinguished from the real deal.
