---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES :

+Faithful - his resolve is all but unshakable
+Erudite - He learns things faster than he has any right to do
+Dead Cat - His reflexes are fast. Really fast. It's just hard to work out if his hands or his eyes are faster.

-Obsessive - Once it gets in his head, it's not coming out 'til he's dead!
-Frail - He walks where others run, and isn't going to scale anything.
-One Eye - His depth perception is oddly unaffected, but his long-range accuracy is bad even for a Stormtrooper.

APPEARANCE:

Generally spends all his time in his Emperor's Guard uniform, unique in that it has purple accents instead of red.
He walks with a force pike on display in the usual ceremonial posture but in his left hand.
On his right hip, beneath his cloak, lie another force pike and a heavy blaster pistol on a quick-release gravclip.

When in places not becoming to Imperial attire, he is suited as pictured, with his gravclip's contents on full display and his left hand more loosely holding its force pike. His movement is noticeably different when not wearing his uniform, and his name means different things to different people merely due to how differently he presents himself within these two personas.

...that, and the fact that someone's face and voice are different when not wearing a massively domed helmet...

BIOGRAPHY:

As a child, the life of a Fujari Pirate was all Jaquel Rainrix had ever known. He had killed his first alien at 8, and was doing well at his first ship boarding on his 11th birthday. It was two years sooner than he was meant to, but he was an erudite scholar, having already learnt his share of knots and knife work.

Everything was going fine. A typical Sloogarian transport. Easy steal. They blew the engines, he cut the door, and everyone raged in. Unfortunately, the Sloogarians had some Imperial documents on board. His crew found the documents in the hands of the Sloogarians at precisely the same time they found the Stormtroopers guarding them. The Sloogarians were slaughtered along with his crew right there in front of him, and he was sent for Stormtrooper training.

His previous experience lent him an unfair advantage, and by halfway through his training, he was tipped for Guard duty. Rumours abounded that he had been earmarked from his first week, as getting 11 confirmed kills was quite a way to make an introduction. This was a mirror of the old Emperor's Guard, and was made as a preparation stage for potential recruits into the Knights of Ren. Its training was merciless, and was always done in pairs. They would be taught Eriadu, and their instructors would give some light training in other areas they showed natural abilities in.

This resulted in him being taught the fundamental theories behind Makashi, Juyo, Jar'Kai, and Tràkata, but none of the actual forms. He had been able to surmise the basic idea behind turning your lightsaber on and off from concealment, however, and had no trouble adapting it into the quick-draw he had already honed with his heavy blaster pistol since he was a little one. Sure, he was using a force pike for now, but he was sure he could re-train his muscle memory to operate with a lightsaber if he ever made one....no, when...you gotta believe!

At the culmination of their training, these pairs would fight their partners to the death during the graduation ceremony. Jaquel lost his right eye during his match, and in blind rage utilised a tame "steal essence" technique, enough to kill his frightened partner before passing out from blood loss. This was noted, and he has been tipped for training in the Force. He has been given the 1st tattoo of the Secret Order of the Empire, and has managed to gain a small following of converts to his style of preaching whilst awaiting his placement.

His faith in Imperial doctrine is almost endogenous. On his 11th birthday, his Fujari brethren gave him his coming of age gift before his first battle, picked from "the antique horde" as was tradition to stop them asking for daddy's ship. This consisted of a suit of Shadow Guard armour which was too big for him at the time, and a Purple TIE/IN RG they'd kept as a display piece and let their mechanics tinker with over the past few centuries. They didn't expect it to fly, but he flew it right up to the transport.

His captors were smart enough to use these vestiges of Imperial sovereignty as a lure into a fatalistic view of their meeting. Being of such an unstable age and nature, this gave him the pillar he needed to form his identity, and he flew into this identity with all his teenage angst. Said angst being finally spent through the rigours of training, he has emerged calmer, more focused, and more dangerous than ever before. His pirate past has melded with his Imperial present to create someone able to operate both sides of the fence...as long as they speak G/I Basic...and take him as the preacher and/or pirate he professes to be...
