intergalactic bird of mystery
- Intent: To insert a centralized jawa presence in OPA space because apparently they are interplanetary now and that's rad.

- City Name: Jawaopolis
- Classification: Junkyard/Urban Center
- Location: Utapau
- Affiliation: Jawa Clans
- Population: Crowded
- Demographics:
- Wealth: Poor. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Unfortunately for the jawas what counts as their treasure is the rest of the galaxy's trash. Jawaopolis is run entirely on a complex barter system. Credits are almost worthless which might in fact be a blessing because everything for sale is pretty much refurbished junk.
- Stability: Low. Jawa culture is primitive and disorganized. In theory things are run by clan chiefs and mystics but in practice the only rule of law is the free market. Everyone is a potential customer and competitor all at once.
- Freedom & Oppression: The city exists in a state of guided anarchy where everyone shares one purpose of trading and speculating on salvage. Real estate is determined by clan status and if necessary fist fights. There are no authorities except for the occasional angry jabberings of a clan chief. Nothing is off the table for trade but jawas do not share common interests, for example they are far more interested in mudhorn eggs than spice.
- Description: Jawaopolis is a partially converted starship graveyard on Utapau's surface that the natives have allowed jawa nomads to colonize and exploit. The city resembles a junkheap more than a thriving metropolis but nestled among the shipwrecks and trash markets are clan warrens and smaller self-made domiciles that function as little more than a crude shield from the elements. It is most known for its seemingly endless bazaar which contrary to jawa lore is not infinite but is in fact very large even by non-jawa standards. Sandcrawlers roam the city outskirts and circle together for protection in great chains during market season.
- Sandcrawler Circle: A snaking queue of mobile crawlers that form a rough outer perimeter of Jawaopolis' city limits. Although the jawas band together in places like this for strength the circle is by no means friendly ground. Inter-clan rivalries are strong and often during market season entire sandcrawlers will go to war with their neighbors over anything from financial misfortune to perceived social slights.
- Everytime Swap Meet: Jawaopolis is best known for its sprawling markets that cover a not insignificant portion of the starship graveyard. It is here that nomadic clans from throughout several sectors gather to trade their most prized wares and organize mining or salvage expeditions that require multiple clans working together.
- Big Mojo Hut: A large ramshackle structure erected roughly in the city's center, Big Mojo Hut is where the most powerful jawa shamans gather and is the closest thing there is to a center of jawa city government. It is here that clan chief disputes are sorted and on rare occasions where outsiders are dealt with.
- Rating: Low. Jawas are surprisingly ingenuous creatures capable of manufacturing all kinds of crude booby traps and defense measures but at the end of the day let's face it they are jawas. Any halfway serious assault would roll right over them.
Jawaopolis is one of the largest jawa settlements in the Outer Rim and boasts a concentration of the little scavengers that one day might even rival Tatooine. Normally a nomadic species static camps like this one only rise naturally out of popular trade spots. Since the Utapaun Committee has proven itself curiously tolerant of a jawa presence on their surface the city's reputation has grown over time as a known safe haven for wandering merchant clans to conduct good honest junk trade.
The 'city' is formed haphazardly throughout one of Utapau's greatest starship graveyards. Predominantly Clone Wars era, most hulls have been stripped and their bulkheads repurposed to shape the tiny urban squalor. Sandcrawlers are a common sight not just on the city's outskirts but in a constant trail from Jawaopolis to Pau City or smaller jawa camps. The Everytime Swap Meet is a year round festival of trade that draws clans from various sectors in to form a spontaneous new bazaar every day and every night on each day of the planetary cycle.
While its population is overwhelmingly jawa there is a small but distinct minority of other diminutive species known for their enterprising or ingenuous natures. Most prominent being a fiercely competitive ugnaught quarter of dubious local reputation but with unparalleled access to spare droid parts straight from Cloud City.
