BIOGRAPHY:
Jackson "Jax" Matthew Penger was born on the sand planet of Tatooine. His mother died in his birth and he was raised by his father. His father, John Penger, was the commander of a Republic outpost just outside the spaceport Mos Eisley. Though they had a steady income, life on outer-rim planet was harsh.
When Jax was six he started attending a small school. During the day he would be bullied and attacked by some of the larger boys. His father was disappointed in him and wished he would fight for himself. Feeling disgraced, Jax stole his father's knife and took it with him the next day for school. When the leader of the boys attacked, Jax took the knife out and killed him.
Jax was arrested and spent two weeks in prison before being released back to his father, who was even more disappointed in him. He didn't understand why his father would want him to fight but no allow him to kill. He decided from this point on he would never stop fighting until he found the truth to this question.
At the age of sixteen, following his father's footsteps, Jax enlisted for the Republic Army and left for training. After two years, Jax graduated and, under the request of his father, was assigned to his father's team.
The days were always long and hot. Little did Jax know was that his life was about to drastically change. When he was twenty-one, three years into his outer-rim assignment with his father, a large mercenary group attacked their outpost, hoping to loot it and sell the items to the Mandalorians or another faction against the Republic. The firefight was intense and though his team came out on top, his father was mortally wounded.
Filled with anger and convinced that if the Republic wasn't good enough to fight against a simple mercenary band, they couldn't fight against the darkness of other factions, Jax abandoned his father and men to look for a stronger military to join.
For the next five years he went from mercenary company to mercenary company, getting paid to eliminate targets with precision. His military training as well as skills he learned as a mercenary made him a killer that people would fear. Just after turning twenty-seven, Jax was set up by his client and was arrested on Coruscant. After about a week he was visited by someone claiming to be his father. The unknown man informed him that he would bail him out and in return Jax would journey with him to Korriban for experiments that would turn him into a "super soldier". He took the offer.
After another few weeks he was released and, honoring his word, went to Korriban where the stranger was waiting. He was taken to old ruins within the Valley of Sith Lords and was tortured with a strange dark substance. After weeks of enduring the pain he was taken and dumped in the desert.
Eventually he made his way off planet with the help of a junker. Returning to Coruscant to find and eliminate the man who set up his arrest, he was chased by Jedi. Once cornered the Jedi pursuers informed him of his force sensitivity, which he apparently gained from the strange substance in combination with the torture and hatred grained from his fathers death. The Jedi offered him a chance to join their ranks or to leave and never return to Coruscant. Knowing that if he refused, this might be his only chance to survive the Jedi. He left.
He is now searching for a way to train and hone his skills as both a assassin and as a rogue user of the force.
