Born and raised on Lianna, Valkier's life was far from difficult. His family wasn't wealthy, but was far from poor. Excelling in his education, the charismatic Valkier became a leader within his student body.
His gang of friends raced around the suburbs of Lianna on swoop bikes, and Jean took an interest in flying. He eventually purchased his own airspeeder, which became his pride and joy. It was on this craft he began learning to fly and to maintain a ship.
Graduating in the midst of political upheaval in the galaxy, Valkier was recruited into the local Naval Academy. Here he achieved similar success to his earlier education; his piloting skills earned the respect of his instructors and the admiration of his peers. Soon, he was flying with the local militia as part of his extracurricular training.
His training and academic career was marred by an incident involving another militia member, who no longer wished to serve. Jean knew in advance that the other man intended to go AWOL, but felt reporting him wouldn't be worth straining their relationship.
In spite of the reprimands following the incident, Jean graduated from the Academy in time to join the fighter corps of the Empire Of The Lost, being assigned to a TIE fighter and given the designation PN-743-92

Valkier is slightly tall, and well muscled in accordance with pilot training standards. His dark hair and green eyes clash with his pale skin, while a scar runs along his left cheek from a swoop bike accident. He remains clean shaven, with no beard hiding his strong jawline and pleasant smile.
