PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
A staunch advocate for education and history, Jedi Master Tula was always curious about the galaxy around her. As a Jedi initiate she preferred the serenity of the temples rather than field experience; but as she grew older she learned to appreciate the natural beauty and wonders of worlds scattered throughout the Mid Rim and Outer Rim territories, such as Kashyyyk and Bothawui.
Naturally suspicious and investigative of others, Master Kazak is not one to openly show emotion or affection; however, to those she trusts and cares for, they will know it in her actions.
She enjoys spending most of her time outside now, her face weathered from the sun and years of experience; she has even gone so far as to sleep outdoors often while on Veridia.
STRENGTHS
Insight of the Force
Tula possesses the remarkable ability to gain insight about the events surrounding a particular object if she touches it. As her ability in this is exceptionally strong, she could gather information such as the species and gender of what person was last holding it, as well as a vague, fuzzy outline of their face and a very vague sense of their emotion as they were interacting with the object or a certain mark left behind, such as the grooves of a boot left within a footprint. This ability makes her a natural to be a Jedi investigator.
Force Dreams
Not always, but sometimes - Tula will have a dream come to her while sleeping. This dream may impart some vague information to her - the outline of a criminal as he is about to commit something terrible, a terrible injustice being committed as seen through the eyes of a victim (such as a murder from first person point of view), the voice of a criminal talking as he is discussing a plan with his minions, or the whisperings of something bad that will happen within the next few days. It is more of a hunch or a suspicion that leads her to investigate further for more details to be certain, but it is enough of a warning to get her awake and get moving.
Force Pull
Tula demonstrates exceptional ability within the niche of Force pulling; this ability would allow her to pull down structures such as hard rock and metallic buildings, and even damage the steel of a warship. This strength does not bleed into her other Force powers; for some reason, she can perform pulls without draining a lot of her energy.
WEAKNESSES
Physicality
Although she has maintained herself well at her age, Master Kazak is no young Jedi anymore. She also still battles with an injury to her leg from when it was broken and never healed quite right after an attack. As such, things like landing hard on her feet and rolling around would aggravate her leg injury and make it harder to concentrate during a fight. She prefers not to perform high leaps or similar attacks because it is painful for her. She would usually fight with her feet planted on the ground, giving her a disadvantage against a more lithe opponent.
Vision
In the same attack that left her knee broken, Master Kazak lost vision in her left eye. While this does not immediately discount her as a warrior, it would make her attacks with the lightsaber more limited and less likely to hit the intended target, thereby affecting things like range of vision and dexterity.
Lightsaber Form
With its emphasis on defensive forms, calm resilience with tight parries, and close-quarter, ground-based movements, Master Kazak prefers Form III: Soresu.
HISTORY
Born on the world of Naboo, Tula - like most of her people - grew up knowing Naboo was the most beautiful world in the galaxy, and therefore she grew up appreciating nature and learning how to live in harmony with it. The Naboo people also greatly value education and technology, without abandoning their love for their rich history and tradition. All of these qualities of the Naboo are within Tula herself, holding a great fondness for Jedi traditions and the beauty of helping life bloom, rather than letting it wither away.
Her family were actually deeply ingrained in Naboo's history, serving through generations as teachers and aides to the queen and her family. In the year 600 ABY, her family was finally put in charge of the Theed Royal Library, which housed Naboo's largest education center and contained every scrap of information the people of Naboo had gathered about the galaxy around them, including maps, hyperspace routes, and list after list of sentient species and their own distinct cultures.
Naturally, Tula spent much of her childhood in the library, helping to restore it and maintain it with her family. She also grew up having a special and informal relationship with the queen of Naboo at that time, who she regarded as something of an aunt.
When the queen suddenly had an attempt on her life and was kidnapped, Tula was ten years old. The Alliance dispatched a Zabrak Jedi Master named Joba Danva to investigate her kidnapping. Master Joba met with the Kazak family to help gather information, and was immediately taken with the young, inquisitive, bright Tula.
Tula had demonstrated unusual knowledge for her age, although she did not realize at the time it was because of her exceptional Force vision. While holding a glove that the kidnapper had dropped in his taking of the queen, she suddenly gained an idea of what he looked like and his thoughts as he had snatched the queen; Tula's insight proved shocking and valuable, and Master Joba was able to apprehend the criminal within three days. When Queen Yamalle was returned safely, Tula received special recognition and was invited to serve as a personal investigator for the queen.
However, Master Joba had recognized her talent and knew she could serve the galaxy, and not just her homeworld. Sensing she was strong with the Force, he invited her to become his Padawan, an offer she accepted.
They spent many years of her training performing investigations for the Alliance and the Jedi, often spending weeks out in the Outer Rim chasing criminals and kidnappers. Although not every operation was a success, the many missions allowed Tula to further develop her Force abilities.
And then tragedy finally hit home. While going undercover within a criminal gang on Iridonia, Master Joba and Tula were caught unaware in a bombing attack aboard their ship. The attack killed her Master and left Tula blind in her left eye and with a limp in her left leg for the rest of her life.
She spent many years still working for the Jedi and the Alliance, though she did not choose a student of her own. When news of the Jedi academy opening on Veridia came to her, she went there, hoping to pass on her vast knowledge and natural teaching ability to future students.
