Jedi Classes

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Divided Among the jedi with 3 cardinal classes, the ranks and classes of the jedi are vast and cover a large area of skills and personalities. After the initial stages as an initiate and youngling. When a jedi reaches the rank of padawan they can start looking at what path they wish to join.

The Cardinal Paths:
The Path of The Guardian: The path the jedi take that is generally considered for the combat oriented jedi. Those who want to use their saber and in many cases this is correct but there is a lot of talent and skills going into the guardians then just swinging a lightsaber.
The Path of The Sentinel: Often considered the middle ground but full of those who are smart and highly trained. Generally with skills in the technical side of using tools as well as technology and the force for themselves.
The Path of The Consulor: The scholars, the librarians and those who seek to understand the greater aspects of the force. Training themselves and defending with knowledge and understanding as well as their own saber skills.
The Path of The Unknown: While not offical, those classes and ranks that are not clearly defined but found withi the order. Rare points that the jedi are able to join and meet with.

The Path of The Jedi Guardian:

Specialized paths
Because not all Guardians could specialize in every field of study, there were several different paths a Jedi could take to hone their own skills to better serve the Order. Separated into four major divisions, this class not only focused on martial skills, but that of piloting and space combat.

Combat Specialist: Jedi Battlemaster

Exotic Weapons Specialists: Jedi Weapon Master
Deciding to adopt a different weapon than that carried by other Jedi, Weapons Specialists worked with tools other than a lightsaber to defeat their foes. A rarity in the Order, Weapons Specialists worked with double-bladed lightsabers, lightsaber pikes, flails, whips, and blasters.

Lightsaber Instructors: Jedi instructor
Vital to the training of Jedi Initiates at the Temple, lightsaber instructors were chosen by the current Jedi battlemaster after having served many long years on the front lines of battle. While the title battlemaster was taken up by many Jedi during the New Sith Wars, it was eventually once more used to represent a single Jedi at each academy, recommending potential instructors to the Jedi High Council for appointment.

Jedi ace: Jedi ace
Organized under the Jedi Starfighter Corps, the Jedi Aces were highly adept pilots and dogfighters. Piloting a variety of different starfighter models over the Order's history, those specializing as Aces used their battle awareness to increase their firing accuracy and precision far beyond what a non-Force-sensitive pilot could achieve.

Jedi Peacekeeper: Jedi Peacekeeper
The Jedi Peacekeepers were specialists in the art of policing the galaxy and ensuring that laws are enforced along the Outer Rim. Probably the most recognized branch of the Guardian class, these individuals served alongside Sector police and local militias to ensure peace was kept amongst the stars. The branch of Peacekeepers serving on Coruscant made up the Temple Security Force, the protectors of the Jedi Temple and the greater Temple district. This organization could be further broken down into the ranks of Jedi Gate Master, Jedi brute, and Jedi Sniper.

The Path of The Jedi Sentinel:

Specialized paths
Sentinels focused on a variety of fields, some with honorifics in the Order, others with skills taken up by professionals in the rest of civilization. Applying their abilities to the art of the slicer, technician, spy, and security experts, the Sentinels also take on very specific titles in the Order.

Jedi Investigator: Jedi investigator
Working as specialized trackers and even spies, the Jedi Investigators worked closely with law enforcement to track down criminals and discover the truth behind crimes. Going undercover for long stretches of time, investigators should not be confused with their Shadow cousins, as the role of an investigator focuses mainly on crime as opposed to Dark Side Adepts.

Jedi Recruiter: Jedi recruiter
Working as members of the Acquisition Division of the Order, the Jedi recruiters honed the talents learned from Jedi Investigators to track down and identify Force-sensitives to assess whether they belonged in the Jedi Order. Republic law required all newborns undergo testing, with potential candidates' names being recorded in the Division's prized Kyber memory crystal. After the child had aged a few months, the Order would dispatch a recruiter to test the child and see if they met the qualifications to begin training on the Jedi Path.

Jedi Shadow: Jedi Shadow
A highly respected and secretive group of Jedi, the Shadows went farther than the Investigators in their hunt for the truth. Working closely with the Council of First Knowledge, the Shadows seek and destroy all traces of the Dark side of the Force, and its adepts. While not always present at the Temple, the Shadows were based in the Temple Precinct and reported back as frequently as their mission allowed.

Jedi Temple Guard: Jedi Temple Guard
Anonymous sentinels who served as security force and reported to Jedi Master Cin Drallig, who headed the Temple's security detail. They wore formal robes and identity-concealing masks, the ultimate expression of emotional detachment required in service to a higher calling. Temple Guards carried imposing lightsaber pikes—thick, double-bladed weapons that produced a rare and distinctive yellow blade.

Jedi Watchman: Jedi Watchman
The Jedi Watchmen were a group of individuals who chose to work alone in the oversight of peace on a single planet or system. Focusing on bettering society and protecting the rights of a system for years at a time, they became a vital liaison between the planetary government and the Jedi High Council.

Additional specialization
Many Jedi Sentinels resided at the Jedi Temple, using their skills where needed and providing assistance to local law enforcement. The Technical division of the Order was staffed by tech experts who specialized in the maintenance of droids and other mechanicals, a skill rare among the generally anti-droid members of the Order. Developing a special technique known as mechu-deru, many were able to see the intuitiveness behind the complex structures that droids were comprised of.
Security experts and slicers also maintained their skills at the Temple by running through practice courses devised to test their abilities and the skills of their trade. Without the Force to assist them, these two skills were largely developed through unassisted training and the gift of years of hard work. The quartermaster of the Jedi Temple worked to ensure that all Jedi equipment had been updated and that the storehouse at the Temple was always stocked with the latest technology.

The Path of The Jedi Consular:

Specialized paths
Serving a vast variety of roles in the Order and within the galaxy at large, the career paths available to the Consular were many.

Jedi Ambassador: Jedi Ambassador
Serving as liaison between newly discovered worlds and the Republic Senate, Jedi Ambassadors were often requested by the governments of foreign powers to mediate talks of membership with the galactic regime. Unlike the Jedi Diplomats, the Ambassador serves solely as the face of the Republic, and does not make policy or major decisions for either party.

Jedi artisan: Jedi artisan
A very rare specialization, the artisans focused their Force studies into the art of creation, crafting beautiful works ranging from lightsaber hilts to other precious artifacts that were imbued with the Force.

Jedi Diplomat: Jedi Diplomat
While Ambassadors of the Order merely mediated talks with the Republic and foreign states, Diplomats had the intricate tasks of writing treaties and resolving political disputes. Extensive knowledge of intergalactic politics combined with Force-imbued insight allowed Diplomats to handle delicate negotiations.

Jedi healer: Jedi healer
Healers were drawn to this specialization by their compassion for others and a desire to cure the infirm and stop the spread of disease. Taking a more holistic approach to healing than the average physician, healers used the Force to accelerate the natural healing abilities of living flesh. Led by the Circle of Jedi Healers, the Healers drew upon the Living Force to preserve life and cleanse impurities and wounds. Working closely with the Medical Corps, the Healers often worked on the battlefields of war-torn worlds, aiding in the medical treatment of soldiers.

Lore Keeper: Lore Keeper
Made up of three similar groups, the Jedi archivist, Jedi historian, and Jedi librarian, the Lore Keepers of the Order were governed by the Librarian's Assembly of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Maintaining the Jedi Archives, these three groups specialized in different fields, but all worked closely in maintaining their vast collection. The Chief Librarian was the title of the Jedi Master who presided over Temple Archives.

Jedi Researcher: Jedi Researcher
Made up of many specialists serving the Order by updating the Jedi Archives, Researchers filled the roles of Jedi archaeologists, mathematicians, biologists, geologists, astronomers, and hyperspatial physicists.

Jedi Seers: Jedi Seer
Highly attuned to the Unifying Force, the Seers of the Jedi Order were gifted with pre- and postcognition, seeing glimpse granted by the Force of things to come, and things which have already transpired. Jedi Prophets were a rarity amongst the Seers, and were able to divine such things as the Prophecy of the Chosen One.

Jedi Sage: Jedi Sage
Jedi Sages were highly attuned in the Force, manipulating it to the extent they could rip apart foes and distort reality. The Jedi Sages were skilled in the use of Force Shield and Force Wave, and were exceptional healers, Jedi Diplomat, Jedi Ambassador, seers and telekinetic and Force combatants.
