• A feather - This armour is designed with the Jedi fighting style in mind, so is quite a light armour to free up movement and not slow down its wearer.
  
  
• Oh you have a glowstick? - With Duraplast for the main plate and a cortosis-weave undersuit, one would have to stand still for a very long time for a lightsaber to get through to vital organs.

• Still a feather - Though it frees up movement, it still remains a light armour, which means it doesn't cover the entire body. There are still places not covered by the undersuit that can be targeted.
  
  
• Funky offensive - There's not much protection on this armour outside of energy, kinetic and lightsabers. Throwing some acid or a sonic shot at the Jedi will definitely have an impact.

After being contracted to supply the Foundation with ships, Doreva Industries was also asked to manufacture other military elements to aid the organisation in its bid to rebuild communities and heal the Galaxy. After all, in some situations, self-defence was to be expected.
To that end, the first request was for some standard Light Armour for the Foundation's Jedi elements. With Lightsabers readily available within the Galaxy, it was prudent to protect its Jedi in order for them to effectively help people within the Galaxy.
So the armour was rolled out, light enough to not hamper its wearer in any way, while still having enough protection to at least protect the wearer against conventional threats.
Definitely a boon for any Jedi.
