Jedi Just Want To Have Fun (Logan Falkov)

Zeltron Night Club

Pink and purple lights swirled around the people who danced to the loud Zeltron music. The atmosphere was wild and jovial, which was unfamiliar to the Jedi padawans that were now dancing happily in the middle of the crowd.

It had surprised Abbi that the Silver Jedi masters had allowed the group of young Jedi to go to the party planet unattended. To be fair all of them were eighteen or older so they were supposed to be responsible. So, the group of young Jedi had put on their most trendy clothes (which weren't very trendy) and the girls had put on the small amount of make-up they owned then headed off to the nightclub in hopes of having a good time.

At first it had been awkward but soon the group relaxed and began to dance. After a while Abbi broke off from the group and headed to the bar area. "Can I have sparkling water please," she said to the bartender continuing to watch her friend dance.

Logan eyed the crowd from the stage of the nightclub. He had gone there to have a little gig, sing a few songs and perhaps just enjoy nightlife. He was still considered underage in many parts of the galaxy, but his manager had allowed him to get a few drinks or so, which was nice in his opinion. Not that he was a drunkard or anything.

He had performed his final song and was now about to go and have a few drinks. As he approached the bar, he already shouted, "Can I have a beer, please? Something light, though."

And just a few second after getting his drink, another person, a woman, approached, ordering only a sparkling water. She looked a little bit reserved, at least in the boy's eyes, but that was alright.

He turned his eyes away from her for a moment to look at the crowd who were starting to dance to typical disco music. The transition from a singer to a DJ had been pleasant and swift. Didn't happen too often at the places he sang at, though.

"Hey, girl! Nice party, right?" he asked after turning back to the girl.

It took Abbi a moment to realize that the guy was talking to her. Being somewhere with so many people was overwhelming at times. She was having a hard time reading people with the force due to the concentrated population in the club. It was easy to pick out the other Jedi there but he was not a Jedi. He was something though.

"Uh, yeah," she replied taking the water from the bartender. "It is definitely something." Brown eyes moved back to the group of young Jedi dancing in the crowd. They weren't the coolest but at least no one had pulled out their lightsabers to try to show off.

She turned back to the young man standing next to her. "Do you come here often?"

"Uh, no. It's actually my first time here. But I might come back some time."

He had actually never even been to Zeltros, even though it was the planet also known as the pleasure planet. He could have had a few concerts there, but he'd just wasted all of his times on dumb gigs on Tatooine and other Outer Rim areas.

The crowd didn't tire him at all. He'd grown used to huge groups of people. In this big galaxy, there was no other way to live as a performance artist than to deal with massive amounts of people pressed into one little space.

He took a sip of the beer he'd ordered. It was slightly stronger than he had expected it to be, but it was still drinkable.

"Umm, I understand you and your friends are not that used to partying?" he asked, having understood she and the awkward group of people had come there together. The question was followed up with a little friendly smile.

Giving a small laugh, she let strands of hair fall closer to her cheeks to hide the blush that had formed. "Um, no. Most of us were raised in Jedi academies," she said with a small smile.

It had not just been kindness that convinced the masters to let the young group go out for some fun. There had been the cave incident a couple weeks earlier where they had all almost died. That probably had something to do with the respite they had all been given.

"We really didn't have dance classes or anything," she sipped at the water. There it was again. The young man gave off some sort of energy. It ha to be the force. "I'm Abbi," she held out her hand in introduction.

So they were Jedi?

"Nice to meet you, Abbi. I'm Logan," the boy took the girl's hand and shook it firmly while holding eye contact with her.

He had actually never met any Jedi. Yes, he could have seen a few, but definitely not talked to any of them. Now it was his opportunity and he had to use it wisely.

"I actually thought Jedi weren't allowed to party? Guess it's just a misconception non-Jedi have developed?"

He laughed just a little more at the general ignorance of the people who did not belong to any of the two Jedi Orders.

"It is a common misconception," she said trying to repress a laugh. "Though I am pretty sure that they don't encourage heavy drinking and spice use."

Tugs are her mind notified that her friends were looking at them. They were curious and wondered who the guy was. She pushed back against the mental tugs signifying that everything was fine. The mental connection that Jedi could establish was at times very useful but other times it could be annoying.

Realizing that it was rude to have telepathic conversation of sorts in the middle of talking to [member="Logan Falkov"], she turned back to him. "Sorry about that, my friends were just curious. We don't get to come to places like this often." Her eyes narrowed as Abbi tried to pinpoint the source of energy Logan was giving off.

"Nah, that's fine."

Truth to be told, Logan had no idea what had happened. He'd felt some kind of discomfort and bursts of energy around which made him feel slightly odd, but hadn't quite grasped the concept of what had actually taken place around him. Was it telepathy? Because he hadn't noticed his friends do much besides just looking at the two.

"But yeah, I guess they wouldn't want to deal with drunk students or anything," he spoke jokingly before taking another sip of the liquid that was quite orange-ish in colour.

He looked at the list of drinks that was attached to the wall.

"But are you sure you wouldn't want a drink that isn't sparkling water? I could order something for you."

He just hoped he wasn't too persuasive. That wouldn't have been anything near how he had wanted to come off as.

"Thanks but I don't think it would serve any purpose," she responded with a smile. "Jedi have a hard time feeling the effects of alcohol. We use the force to modulate how our bodies filter it." She had never tried to get drunk but many of the other padawans had. It never worked like it was supposed to. Their bodies seem to unconsciously get rid of the alcohol before it had any effect.

[member="Logan Falkov"] was certainly a mystery. Abbi could feel the energy. When she and the other padawans had been talking telepathically, his energy signature had spiked. It was frustratingly slippery, she couldn't get a hold on it. Without a second thought to how weird it would be, she reached out and touched his hand. The contact was like a shock but not violent.

Logan was strong in the force but it was untaped. She smiled and moved moved her hand away. He wasn't a Jedi but he was like her which was something.

Logan was still looking at the list when the girl answered the question. Looked like a point to why he wouldn't want to be a Jedi. He'd lose the best effects of alcohol.

And he was still reading the list when Abbi touched his hand. He felt slightly uncomfortable, just as if he'd been electrocuted for a short moment, but recovered from it in a fraction of a second. Whether the girl understood how silly the touching war or just didn't want to do that anymore, she took her hand away quickly.

"How do you Jedi even have any fun if alcohol has no effects on you and spice is something you should not even touch?" he said, then chuckled lightly.

He then turned to the girl and smiled.

"Are you still sure you don't want anything?"

It made sense that he could still drink. He wasn't trained, the force was just simmering underneath the surface. It was there though and it was strong. He had to feel it. "I don't think anyone should mess with spice. It's addictive properties can make people go crazy," she chided with a friendly smile.

"Besides, if you decide to have your force abilities trained you won't feel those affects either. Well, you can. It's just harder to achieve those affects," she looked back at the bartender. "I guess I'll have a beer. Whatever is on tap." Why not live a little. It was unlikely she wouldn't get a vacation like this again anytime soon.

The bartender handed her the drink and her face scrunched at the bitter taste. How did people like this stuff?

"Well, yeah, I have never tried spice. Nor am I going to," Logan pointed out after hearing what Abbi had to say about spice. The singer had heard many successful artists had lost their jobs and fame just because of starting to mess with spices. And he would never want to end up in the way they did, whether taking their lives or going to rehabilitation.

But then the boy understood why Abbi had touched his hand. That's got to be how she completely understood he was a Force-sensitive. He hadn't told her anything about it, had he? He couldn't remember having done that.

However, the girl just seemed to slip through the topic and go to a completely different one. He looked at her as she got her drink and made the funny face he'd seen many do, to which he always laughed at with passion. Not that he was rude, but just because it was typically a funny moment.

"Probably the same grimace I had when I first tried it," he said.

He then wondered what could her friends be thinking about Abbi drinking. He had no clue if she'd ever consumed alcohol, not even speaking of doing that near other Jedi.

"Well it sure isn't wine but I could get used to it," she said thinking back to when her brother used to sneak their parents wine and let her try some. The dark red liquid hadn't been impressive at the time but compared to the beer it was ambrosia.

"i'm surprised you haven't been trained yet. As soon as my parents found out I was force sensitive they shipped me off to my first academy," she kept sipping at the beer. It still didn't taste any better. Her friends had also found drinks but seemed to be handling them well. Jedi can be fun too.

"Yah, I think mine would have done the same had they known I was force-sensitive. They had no idea of that and I still haven't told them that," Logan replied.

He was sure his parents would have wanted him to become a member of the Jedi Order, Republic's patriots as they were, and wanted him to be a successful Jedi Master one day. He would have been left without a choice. He would have had to live a life in lies and then if he understood he wanted to change sides, he would have been considered a traitor.

"I actually haven't joined an organisation myself because... I don't know where to go."

He took a sip of his drink and looked away, at the crowd.

"I haven't figured out yet which one is the best to join."

Abbi contemplated what [member="Logan Falkov"] had said. In her opinion he was lucky that his parents didn't know. But that opinion was biased due to her own negative feelings towards her parents. If she was part of the Jedi Order still then they would want her to promote them. But, Abbi was not part of the Jedi Order anymore.

"Listen Logan," she said looking at him. "I'm not going to try to convince you to come join my order the Silver Jedi. The truth is I'm not the best Jedi to ask. I washed out of eleven Jedi Order academies, not because I was deviant but because I wasn't good enough for them. The Silver Jedi gave me a chance when they didn't have to. They believed in me when they really shouldn't have. Then despite the odds I have actually done well with them."

It was true. Now the young Jedi could activate her lightsaber without almost killing someone. The tonfa-style helped a lot. "I guess you have to ask yourself what it is you're looking for."

Logan gazed at the activated lightsaber, he had to be honest about his thoughts -- he wanted one like that for his own, but he'd have to join somebody who could help make him one. And it had to be whether the Sith or the Jedi.

"I've been thinking of it for about a year now, but... I don't know which side I truly like more. Which side would be more for me."

It was an easy thing for most to choose whether they believed in their own personal wellbeing or wanted the whole galaxy to live a happy life. Logan just hadn't come up with the answer to it yet.

Instead, he took a sip of the beer and nodded.

The bitter taste of it was nothing compared to the bitterness this problem had raised in him.

"I am thinking about becoming a Jedi, but I want to completely sure so that I wouldn't just become a monster frisbee who'd change sides and betray somebody."

Abbi tried to maintain composure as Logan's real problem dawned on her. He wasn't trying to choose between Jedi orders, he was trying to choose between the light and the dark. The force was so strong in him that this decision could literally impact the entire galaxy.

It took her a minute or so to speak again. With a quiet voice she said, "I can't tell you what side to choose. A Jedi master could give you better advice than me really. However, I do know a little about the Sith. I have read so much about them, many were Jedi before they fell. The darkside only brought them suffering," she tried to drink some of the beer again but gave up and switched back to water.

"It's rather lonely being a Sith I imagine. Even though the Jedi have their faults there is never a lack of companionship and caring. A Sith only has themselves and I don't think I could ever live like that," she finished. For Abbi it had been a simple choice. Out of her family only her brother had any love towards her so the Jedi had become the family she lacked.
