HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Born into a family of merchants, Yves grew up in the pastoral countryside of Naboo. As a child, he was very bright and showed a great amount of curiosity about the world around him. It wasn’t long before he turned his gaze to the sky, and to the worlds surrounding his home world. One day, while roaming the village, he met a very mysterious stranger – a man in a brown robe, a Jedi Master named Leo Sundar. The Jedi had come to the village, having been drawn there by something, or rather… by someone. This meeting was no coincidence. Memories of this day are still very much alive in Yves’ mind; for it was the day he learned that he was force-sensitive.
The Galen family was reluctant to accept that Yves could grow to be a Jedi, but they allowed Master Sundar to train Yves. The training began on Naboo, but would soon take the pair to many different worlds.
Yves grew into a competent and some-what cocky Knight. His early twenties were a time when he could truly explore the mysteries of the force and push his own abilities to the limit. Though he was very capable, he was chided by his Master for being reckless and over-confident.
The years wound on, Yves continued his travels alone after parting ways with his Master. Time had tempered his brash attitude and reckless ways. Now in his late thirties, he worked to continue to improve himself and help people in need. It was never his way to directly interfere, unless there was a very urgent need, but rather, he liked to work with the locals in order to resolve issues. Having found himself on Klatooine, he witnessed an event that would change his life forever.
A shuttle had crashed in the desert. One of the first on the scene, Yves was shocked to find that there was one survivor of the accident, an infant girl. The two adult passengers had perished and the local authorities unable to identify them or their transport ship. As someone that had never been especially fond of children, Yves was surprised to find that he felt drawn to the newly orphaned baby. Perhaps, a gift of the force, he would muse. The local authorities had planned to place the baby in a home for orphans or in a foster family until something more permanent could be found. However, Yves was unsettled by these options and decided to take the girl as his charge.
He would raise the infant as his own, but he left his information with the authorities on Klatooine, in the unlikely event that her extended family was located. Yves named the baby Sabine, after his grandmother, and gave her his last name. The two settled for a time on Naboo, near the old village where Yves grew up. Not only did he raise her as his own daughter, but as his apprentice as well. The young girl was force-sensitive, and he taught her the ways of the Jedi from a very young age.
Now, some twenty years later, he is very proud that Sabine has reached her own Knighthood. Yves is very protective of Sabine but is attempting to give the girl some freedom of her own. The two have been traveling for several years now, exploring and providing assistance where ever the force takes them.
