Jedi Representation Act

"Ladies and Gentleman of the Senate, I would like to propose that in light of the Jedi Order's rights of automatic citizenship as well as the official status of every Jedi as a member of the Republic Government that an exception be made to the current Republic Law excluding Jedi's ability to hold a political office. I motion that the Jedi be given two honorary senate seats, one for the planet Tython and one to represent the voice of the Jedi, who by law are all Government Officials in one capacity or another. These seats would be appointed by the Jedi Order internally, and no special privileges would be given to said appointees. The seats would be allowed a vote each, and the opportunity to speak in the Senate as desired, same as any other representative. Barring this special case the current Law barring Jedi from taking political office would remain, with the Jedi and former Jedi being unable to run for political office, whether for the job of Chancellor, Senator of a planet other than Tython, Mayor or Governor or a planter or city, and everything in between."
