Jedi Starfighter Corps?

I was wondering if there was an active Jedi Starfighter Corps currently in action? And if not, if my character could approach the Jedi Council and members of the Senate about forming a Jedi Starfighter Corps? When I created my character, I gave him a set of physical strengths/weaknesses and mental. One of the physical strengths is his ability to fly, but it seems my character is without a Republic Starfighter corps to join.

There was a Ghost Squadron headed by @[member="Marcello Matteo"] confirmed by @[member="Cody Jorin"]. Of you'd like, you can contact either or them.

Or since Marcello is on LOA, you can just assume you're in the squadron if you prefer.
