Jen'ari Sith Academy Training

With his instructions Zaralax ventured into the jungles with anger on his mind 'a jungle?! a cave?! this is an insult to my abilties I should be learning how to shock people into submission, how to properly destroy a mind, instead I'm traveling through a jungle'. His thoughts faded as he took in his surroundings, the jungle's trees soared into the sky with faint outlines of Maliocs swooping in and catching prey, he had heard stories of them. 'Bah, as if they could harm me, I'd destroy them before they could think of it' he continued on his path, cursing as he struggled through the harder parts of some vines, he knew the planet had wampas and Jurgorans, but he was sure he could handle them. He noticed a sleen lying on a small rock, waiting for food to appear. Zaralax was beyond frustrated and just continued walking

Zaralax cursed as the path became harder to navigate, the jungle's trees and vines becoming more wet and swamp-like. He began actively scanning the area with his mind, any swamp wampas would not get the jump on him. However, actively searching for one threat left him open to the others, in this case a yozusk, who's territory he had accidently wandered into. Cursing at himself for being careless, Zaralax grabbed and activated his silver bladed Lightsaber, a remainder of his time as a jedi knight. Shaking off the memories, Zaralax blocked the charge the yozusk had done. It was night, which gave the Yozusk the advantage, however it would not last as Zaralax used the force to constrict the creature's throat and then quickly and efficntly, loped the head off the creature. The Yozusk fell over, dead, a stark contrast over the life of the area around it, Zaralax deactivated his lightsaber and pressed on.

Deciding that now was a good time for rest, Zaralax sought out a small alcove for him to rest, the only nearby creature a sleen which Zaralax took his frustration out on, crushing it with the force. Eating one of the prepared rations he brough with him, his thoughts turned to his current situation. 'This jungle is huge, how i'm suppsoed to find a cave is a mystery' he sighed as he finished eating and drifted into a dreamless sleep. Awaking as the sun shone through the jungle trees, Zaralax stood up and continued his journey, taking in his surroundings. The trees had become taller here, with vines wrapped around some, he regreted not learning much about this planet while he could, now he would be forced to learn.

While the rest had soothed some of Zaralax's frustration with his task, he still found it difficult to navigate, the air had gotten hotter and the tempature had increased overnight. He continued in the direction that would hopefully lead to the cave with the kyber crystal, the jungle was alive with sound, chirps and whistles came from the many treetops. He knew he was entering Jurgoran territory, he hoped to avoid them, while he could kill them easily, it would be better to avoid provoking them. As he came to a stop, he noticed a Jurgoran, viciously devouring some unfortunate animal. The Jurgoran's hide shone with green scales with blood splatters, the carcass of it's prey split open and mutilated. The Jurgoran suddenly stopped and seemed to look around for a bit, however it did not seem to notice anything, as it continued eating.

After Traveling for many hours, Zaralax stopped, he felt a disturbance, an echo of some kind. He looked around and noticed the cave he was told about, it basically radiated darkside, which was good. Grining with excitment, Zaralax stepped forward into the cave. It was musty and dank, with dark crevices and a oval shaped center room, old engravings were still visbile, had he more time, Zaralax would of glady studied them. The cave was bigger then he thought, and he pressed om.

Venturing into the next room, the first thing Zaralax noticed was the smell, it was putrid, a mixture of rotten flesh and swamp air. It didn't take long to find the source, a swamp wampa had taken refuge here, likely to take shelter from the planet's unrelenting wind. The wampa noticed him, and let out a huge roar as it bounded towards him, dodging to the side, Zaralax activated his lightsaber and scanned his surroundings. The room was empty and quite large, so no cover, 'I can work this to my advantage, yes' just as the wampa charged again, Zaralax backpeddled. The wampa, expecting solid human and not empty air, tripped and fell, Zaralax merely walked over and stabbed it in the throat.

After dispatching the wampa, Zaralax went into the next room he saw. This room, in contrast to the previous ones, was small and circular, and at the very middle sat a pedestal. Zaralax immeditly melt a huge darkside pressence and knew at once that it came from the pedestal. Taking some time to investigate the words on the walls, he apporcahced the pedestal, on top of it was a red, glowing kyber crystal, the one he was sent to find. 'Finally, now I can get out of this place' with those thoughts he took the kyber crystal and put it safetly in his pouch before leaving.

Zarelax walked out of the room, 'now to just make the way back...great' as he walked out from the cave, the sudden change in senary blinding him for a second, he felt a warning through the force. Heeding it and dodging just in a time, a Jurgoran leap from it's hiding place, dark brown scales glittering and murder on it's mind. 'This day just keeps getting better and better' he activated his lightsaber and scanned the area as the Jurgoran dissapeared into the trees. He knew it was not gone, and his caution paid off when he was able to dodge another attack and respond with a quick slice, unfourtanly, his lightsaber did not cut as far as he hoped, and had to dodge back again. 'Alright, time to end this' Zaralax used to force to choke the Jurgoran, watching as it's life slowly faded.

With the creature destroyed, Zaralax started the long journey back to the academy, his earlier frustration replaced with anticipation. Looking up, it looked to be about mid-day, he cut some branches that had blocked his path. The walk back was made harder by the planet's windstorms, thankful for his cloak, Zaralax endured the winds and rain. He noticed some swamp wampas, thought they either didn't notice him or didn't care, as they were content to leave him alone. The tree's had become shorter, a sign that he was reaching his destination.

The path had become easier to move through as Zaralax moved through familar ground. 'Nearly there now' it had become evening and the rain had become worse. The animas seemed to be seeking refuge, however Zaralax kept moving, the ground was becoming less jungly are more sandy, an indicator that the academy was nearby. As he finally exited the jungle, he approached he academy.
