RANK: None
SPECIES: Half Umbaran, half Corellian Human
AGE: Early middle age
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: Unremarkable
WEIGHT: Unremarkable

HAIR: Brown with some gray

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
- Washout: Jerec left a shipwright job under a cloud. The respectable end of the starship design world - his career - is largely closed to him now.
- Lots of enemies, low on friends. Jerec had a seven-figure bounty on his head for a while. That kind of thing sticks with you.
- Driver of speeders, swoops, cloud cars, even heavy walkers if absolutely necessary. Pretty decent space pilot too.
- Half Umbaran: Jerec can see a bit outside the visual spectrum, but his eyes are sensitive. He has some of the Umbaran knack for telling if people are lying.
- Experienced salvager, smuggler, and prospector.
- A bit claustrophobic since his imprisonment in a sketchy secret private psych ward.
APPEARANCE:
Just another spacer. Absolutely innocuous.
BIOGRAPHY:
Jerec Asyr grew up in a low-income sector of Coronet City on Corellia. He spent time in government care, juvenile detention, and swoop-racing gangs. A talented mechanic, he parlayed his skills into shipboard jobs and became a spacer by trade.
By a twist of luck, he won the opportunity to go into white-collar work for Gallofree Transports. A few years of aggressive professional development requests and equally aggressive night school put him on a design team. He contributed to projects as diverse as the NUM707 hoverbus; the Avier, Tannhauser, and Cursor transport lines; the Transgressor heavy walker; and even the top-secret Nightmare Indigo stealth courier for the Corellian Diktat. GT had him running all over, from the Core to the Outer Rim.
Bright future or not, he and the job soured on each other. After an especially rough stretch, GT showed him the airlock, not quite literally.
He'd made decent money, even bought a Cursor of his own, the Colichemarde. He hired a crew and put the courier ship to work, prospecting for rare minerals on obscure worlds. It was on one such expedition that he fell afoul of a quasi-imperial group called the Directorate.
A couple of bad encounters resulted, including the boarding and partial looting of a star destroyer in the Pijal system. Later, during a gunfight on Zoph, Jerec called the wrong bluff. The Directorate destroyed the Colichemarde, killed his crew, and put a 2.5 million credit bounty on him. He fell in with OPA radicals and fought Children of the New Order. During one such fight, on Pantora, he claimed a run-down Tannhauser freighter from the Sith terrorist group. He named it the 'Infinity's Free,' after a line from an old spacer shanty.
Not long afterward, a nameless Gand bounty hunter captured Jerec on The Wheel and collected the price. The Directorate imprisoned him in the Iniquitous Sanitorium, a dubious private psychiatric ward concealed in the Hoth asteroid belt. Though he eventually secured his freedom, Jerec was left with, if possible, an even greater distrust of authority.
