JEREC DRAAY
THE STORY SO FAR...
Jerec Draay was born into a proud Miraluka family on his homeworld, where the force-sensitive species thrived in harmony with their spiritual traditions. From a young age, Jerec exhibited a keen intellect and an insatiable curiosity about the galaxy. His academic prowess earned him a place among the most promising scholars of his generation. While his peers focused on the conventional path of studying the Force and its nuances, Jerec's interests diverged. He was particularly fascinated by the philosophical implications of the Force and the nature of good and evil. This unconventional approach to his studies soon led to tension with his tutors, who adhered to the traditional belief that the Sith were purely malevolent.
Jerec's refusal to accept the Sith as inherently evil became a point of contention. He argued that understanding the Sith's motivations and history could lead to a more comprehensive understanding of the Force itself. This perspective, however, was met with skepticism and disapproval by his mentors, who feared that such thoughts might lead Jerec down a dangerous path. The growing ideological divide eventually spilled over into his personal life, straining his relationship with his parents. They, too, held steadfast to the belief that the Sith were the embodiment of darkness, and they struggled to reconcile Jerec's views with their own. Feeling isolated, Jerec found solace only in his twin sister, Jaina, who remained his unwavering confidant.
Determined to seek answers beyond the confines of his homeworld, Jerec chose exile over conformity. He embarked on a journey to the far reaches of the Outer Rim, a region teeming with uncharted worlds and ancient mysteries. The decision to leave was not an easy one, but Jerec believed that the answers he sought lay beyond the familiar.
Through dedication and skill, Jerec ascended the ranks of the Jensaarai. His pivotal moment came when he successfully handled a troublesome cell of CIS remnants in Hutt space, showcasing his strategic acumen and bravery. This accomplishment earned him the prestigious rank of Defender, a testament to his prowess and leadership abilities.
Driven by a sense of duty and an unwavering commitment to the order's ideals, Jerec chose the latter. Embracing his new role, he vowed to rebuild the Jensaarai, honoring the legacy of those who had fallen and ensuring the survival of their unique perspective on the Force.
Despite the Jensaarai's tradition of insularity, Jerec knew that the order would disappear into obscurity if he could not secure help. He found it in the form of the League of Autonomous Worlds, a successor to the Rimward Trade League whom Veino Garn entrusted before his apparent demise. With the help of the Outer Rim Development Corps, the Jensaarai began reconstruction of their enclave on Susevfi. In return, Jerec offered his assistance in the LAW's mission to establish a new temple of neutral alignment on the desert world of Sevarcos.
