- Affiliation: Jerec Asyr
- Model: CK-12 utility vehicle, heavily modified
- Modularity: Can be easily optimized for desert, tundra, hard vacuum, etc.
- Production: Unique
- Material: Alusteel, condensed-matter composite
- Classification: All-terrain wheeled transport
- Role: Armoured cargo transport
- Size: Average
- Weight: Average
- Armaments: Very Low
- Defenses: High
- Maneuverability Rating: High
- Speed Rating: Extreme
- Propulsion: Studded hemispherical wheels (can be swapped out for different kinds of wheels depending on terrain).
- Minimum Crew: 1
- Optimal Crew: 1
- Passenger Capacity: 4 (comfortably), 10 (uncomfortably, sacrificing cargo space)
- Cargo Capacity: Large
- Nutrient systems for a handful of ysalamiri, enough to cover the vehicle in a Force-null field.
- Condensed-matter composite vibration-damping to help with good speed over rough terrain.
- Dorsal and lateral autoblaster turrets.
- MVSE Caterwaul multipurpose sonic emitter.
- Bunks and supplies for a few people.
- Stripped-down MVSE Chrysalis life support system (minus artificial gravity).
- Multipurpose sensor and communications package.
- Very fast over many kinds of terrain.
- Suitable for many nasty environments (desert, tundra, asteroid/moon, deep mud, etc.)
- Not vulnerable to repulsorlift jammers.
- Good cargo capacity.
- Can ward creatures away with sonic emitter.
- Plenty of sensor and comms options.
- Life support system includes lots of quality-of-life items like inertial dampeners and radiation protection.
- No repulsorlifts: can't get altitude, outpace a swoop bike, etc.
- Four large wheels: if one is knocked out, mobility is severely reduced; if two are knocked out, mobility is basically toast.
- Undercarriage includes large, armored, but potentially vulnerable axles and gears. A heavy landmine or a serious attack at the right angle could knock out one or more wheels. Don't drive over any Sith please.
The CK-12 utility vehicle is a flexible, basic offering that never got much market traction. Jerec Asyr got one when he bid on an abandoned storage unit, sight unseen. During an OPA expedition to Firefist, he used spare bits of time to refit the utility vehicle into a somewhat better utility vehicle. He uses it for all kinds of jobs and personal errands while the Infinity's Free is groundside.
At one point, Jerec had a lab test the muck between the wheel-studs. Its composition was determined to include:
- Dirt from at least twenty-five terrestrial bodies
- Biomass from at least eleven sapient species, both humanoid and non-humanoid
- Three kinds of spice
- Seven brands of lum and beer
- Five radioactive isotopes
- Residue of forty-seven types of explosive
- Debris from personal weapons from eight manufacturers
