BlasTech's the largest manufacturer of blasters and directed-energy weaponry in the Galaxy (with the possible exception of Taim & Bak, but they specialize in shipboard weaponry rather than small arms). You don't get that big without having some measure of quality to your product. I use an SE-14c myself - eight centuries old, and still firing like it's new.
