BIOGRAPHY:
Born to a family of mercantile oligarchs, entrenched in the mining industry on Blaudu Sextus, Joma learned quickly about business and galactic trade from his father, Korlen Leuf, beginning to work for his family at the young age of thirteen. His mother, Solstice, was a lawyer until she retired from law to raise Joma and his three siblings.
Due to Korlan’s overbearing personality, he and his eldest son did not always get along, and to spite his father, he joined the local naval force on the mining colony, where he learned more than the basics of naval tactics, defense and even warfare as Blaudu Sextus, rich in minerals and so far from the Core, was a constant target for pirate raids. Eventually Joma left the navy, but no one knows if he was forced out or resigned of his own accord. With no other options he began working for Korlan Leuf again, and by that time, the family business had grown into a large import/export corporation in addition to its mineral sales. Jomasom became a “factor” or company agent, traveling to nearby planets to establish contracts with governments for goods and resources. Eventually father and son built up a healthy financial empire, and with Joma’s acumen as both a ruthless negotiator and fearless Captain, they seized a trade monopoly in the Outer Rim, expanding their imports and exports to include spice and some outlawed goods (slaves). Joma was also quite the diplomatic arbitrator, the silver tongued salesman to his father’s brutish, no-nonsense personality. He successfully nationalized their company, surpassed Sextuna Mining Corporation in profits, increased the holdings of Leuf Industries and solidified his reputation as a man of prestige and influence… but only in the Outer Rim.
With more ambition than Korlan, Joma set off to First Order space, hoping to replicate his successes under the helm of a more generous and powerful benefactor.
