Jungle Of Death

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

The night mission to hunt Jedi Shadow spies had gone south. There were more Jedi than they'd been informed of and one of his partners got the other killed. As Darth Cinis took off on a speeder his hood blew off and it couldn't hide his thoughs or force signiture. The Jedi could sense him even though he was force cloaked, but they still couldn't tell exactly where he was.

He could sense the dark energies of a Sith tomb nearby and made his way through the forest branches toward it. One of the Shadows caught up and shot his speeder down. The assassin jumped off in time and ignited his crimson lightsaber. The Jedi was caught by surprise and Cinis sliced his head off.

Finally the Sith had the chance to stop and put his hood back up. With his lightsaber exposed there was no point in the force cloak anymore so he revealed himself. Another Jedi caught up to him and they had a short duel before he slashed across the Jedi's face. Cinis got up and kept running. Up ahead he could see a clearing in the trees and the opening of an old Sith Tomb ( http://imgur.com/a/cK0dn01).

He jumped out of the trees, into the clearing and headed for the steps of the tomb. At the top of the steps he noticed two Tuk'ata ( https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Tuk%27ata) were brought from Korriban to guard the crypt. Cinis stood and looked at them, unable to decide if he should take them on or mind control the creatures.

"A͕̹͟ț̥̮̞͔͚͖s̙̗i̙͕͇k̴͈̮͍͍̩ͅl̠̥͝a̝̥̕."
At the front of the tomb another figure in black spoke the ancient Sith tongue. He approached the Tuk'ata, a staff in his hand with a red gem gleaming in the dark. The pair of hounds turned to the figure, each letting loose a guttural growl of warning. Yet as the spoken words hit their ears, they paused their growl and begrudgingly bowed their heads, obeying the spell. Kahlil smiled faintly at this as he walked forward.

As he did, the snap-hiss of a lightsaber alerted him to danger. Behind him another of the Jedi Shadows came to end the son of the Emperor, but before he could strike him down both of the hounds surged forward. In a yelp of surprise the Jedi was taken down and ripped asunder as the hounds listened to their new master. Without bothering to look back Kahlil continued forward into the tomb.

As another Jedi ran up to kill him they locked lighsabers one way and then the other. On the second lightsaber lock Cinis moved to the side while still blocking, forcing the Jedi to stumble past him. The Sith took the opportunity to slash across his spine. As he collapsed to his knees the assassin adjusted his lightsaber in his hands and stabbed downward through the Jedi's neck, into his chest cavity.

The Sith pulled his lightsaber up and out of the corpse as his friend came to avenge him. He managed to avoid their blade and shot them with lethal force lightning. Then one of the tuk'ata walked up and he let up with his lightning to let it munch the light sider's face, with a squishy crunch. It approached him and Cinis pet the beast's head as it walked by to kill more Jedi. The creatures mouth was dropping with blood. "Good dog." The Sith then stuck his hand out and summoned two more tuk'ata from the tomb's depths to delay the Shadows. As the beasts walked out he extinguished his lightsaber and disappeared into the shadows of the tomb after the prince.

"Edoui karks aras gonna mrias xelami deaths nuo zudimas nuyak teammates. Nu'm ari Cinis by tave qo. Kam isar tau visita tu, giant? (Those karks are gonna die painfully for killing my friends. I'm Lord Cinis by the way. What do they call you, giant?)" he said in the language of the Sith to Kahlil.

"Kahlil Zambrano. Kad, kodel byloti kash tsis? (Kahlil Zambrano. But, why speak in Sith?)" Kahlil glanced over his shoulder to [member="Darth Cinis"] as he entered after him, a bemused brow raised on his face. He hadn't expected the company, but it certainly explained the Shadows that had found him earlier. With a quick stamp of his staff the gem lit up a bright red, helping to light the otherwise dark tomb.

"A shame about your friends though. Were they here to study as well?"

"I speak Sith so the Jedi can't eavesdrop on us and because it's our language. So you're royal family? How are you related to the Sith Emperor?"

He activated his saber again to help light the cave. Now he could see there were lights inside the tomb. He shocked the power sorce with his force lightning and slowly the lights began turning on, illuminating the hallway. Obsidian walls and floors with Sith and Massassi writing were now visible.

"It's okay, I'll get payback. No, we came here to kill the Shadows." Lord Cinis answered.

As the two Sith walked down the hallway the floor in front of them broke away to a bed of razor sharp durasteel spikes. Cinis almost stepped on a few of them, but pulled his leg back just in time.

"Whoa chit! Damn traps." he said, mildly startled and irritated.

If one didn't have the force it would be impossible to cross to the other side of the spikes. The assassin thought for a second before walking back to get a headstart. He used force speed and force leap to cross the giant needles, but fell short. He saved himself by using the force to levitate himself, like in meditation, the rest of the way. If Kahlil needed help crossing Cinis could carry him over with the force.

"Though, don't you think the Shadows would have learned Sith by now to better counteract their immortal enemy." Kahlil shrugged his shoulders as they walked, grinning at the artwork that was revealed. Sith certainly knew how to craft their murals. "I'm one of his many children actually. A son." It was a topic he preferred to avoid. It was better to be Kahlil then the son of the Emperor after all.

He paused as [member="Darth Cinis"] almost fell into the pit, having stood behind the Lord as a show of respect. He blinked slow. ".. Such a simple trap. I didn't think the Sith would go that.. Basic." Kahlil graciously accepted the assistance across, having no real way to jump over on his own. His spellwork hadn't gotten that strong yet. As he glanced down he couple help but chuckle. The spikes certainly would have spelled death.

"I wouldn't be surprised if there was more. How do you think we should handle it?"

He sighed, "Tu'd buti surprised. Beze tarianie listi kia svies zhol. Dar tave ones anas isar, zenoti Basic kian anyways, mazo zhol dartov\'ne fashita dalykas. Tsis kash tezn nuyak preferred khutrai." (You'd be surprised. Most wouldn't bother to learn it. Even the ones that do, know Basic too anyways, so it doesn't really matter. Sith is just my preferred language.)

The assassin would return to speaking Basic after replying to Kahlil's irritating question. He wasn't very surprised when the sorceror told him he was Emperor Carnifex's son, he'd already guessed that. Even he knew the Emperor gets around a lot.

"His son. Huh. I was right. Being the prince must be a heavy burden."

Or a cushy existence, he thought to himself, his mind protected by his armor's hood. Cinis wasn't very good at being nice, but he faked it well. He lifted him up with the force and carried the giant Epicathix across the spiked chasm.

"That's what they wanted you to think. The people that thought that before you are decorating the spikes now." Cinis said, replying to Kahlil's comment about the trap seeming too simple for Sith to leave.

Then the Prince asked how they'd avoid more of the traps. "I don't know, just keep an eye out for them. Or hope the force warns you, like it warned me."

They barely started to continue walking down the hall when an army of Massassi warriors stopped the prince and the assassin.

"What the Kark is this?." Cinis said to Kahlil.

One Massassi, the largest, spoke in Sith to them, offering challenge, "Mes reiksme tu\'iea enemies, tau aras ours kian, kad mes must daboti sis kapas sulig tave unworthy. Prove yourselves by zudimas mus ir nuyak warriors aras tu\'iea kia xuontai priaet tave jidai."

After saying this four more Massassi stood beside the first. Two for Cinis, two for Kahlil and the big one to kill together.

Cinis grinned at the worthy opponents and responded, "Nu accept tu\'iea kovothis." (I accept your challenge.)

He lifted his lightsaber up, over his head and made the Form VII opening stance ( http://imgur.com/a/JT0p1TA).

"Only while my brothers and sisters continue to fight among one another for his attention and approval." Kahlil mumbled a response to [member="Darth Cinis"] , a frown formed underneath his mask. He had been in his siblings shadows for quite some time, but he'd change that soon enough. But for now, the focus needed to be on the tomb they were in. The Lord was right. Taking the least obvious path in terms of traps would certainly kill a number who overestimate them.

Simple, yet genius.

The appearance of the Massassi however brought him out of his internal thoughts. He tightened his grip on the staff he wielded, glancing between Cinis and the apparent leader. An open challenge. To prove their strength, or to be killed.

"Itin duob. (Very well.)" The sorcerer brought up his staff, the red gem increasing in it's glow as the Knight prepared himself for what would come next.
