SETTING INFORMATION
- Structure Name: Junkers' Landing
- Classification: Starship Hangar
- Location: Sarkany, a moon of Secellus
- Affiliation: [member='Kyra Sol']
- Accessibility: Hidden, with private access. Requires two sets of codes to access.
- Security: Standard Sensors | If triggered, a notification will be sent to [member='Kyra Sol']. There are also thick durasteel blast doors which cover both of the entrances into the hangar itself, which should hold up for some time if the structure is attacked.
- Description: A decently sized structure, Junkers' Landing is hidden from overhead view by an overhanging rock face which protects it from skyward (visual) detection. Only the entrance can be seen, the rest of the hangar is hidden within the mountain it is backed against, and it is capable of housing several starships. It was made around the various ships already in Kyra's possession, with enough space to fit one or two smaller vessels in the future should the need arise. There is also ample storage space for vehicles and cargo around the hangar itself, and a small living quarters which can be accessed in case of an emergency. It is not intended to act as a fully functioning home or base of operations, however.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Scavenger Docking Bay: Intended as a place to house Kyra's Privateer-Class Frigate, Scavenger, the access point for this larger vessel is actually through the top of the mountain itself, requiring vertical landing and take off. Though the opening to this is closed off, requiring access codes much like the rest of the structure, it is housed within a clearing on the highest point of the mountain and as such is a little harder to hide than the lower entrance. Even so camouflage netting can be found over top of the entrance, as it is rare that Kyra deploys this vessel given its size and the requirement of so large a crew.
Tarnished Bucket Docking Bay: Accessed through the main/lower entrance, this is intended to house Kyra's beloved ZX Stock Light Freighter, The Tarnished Bucket, though truth be told it is unoccupied 90% of the time given that this vessel is her preferred. When not occupied by the Bucket it is often utilized as extra storage space.
Observer Docking Bay: Made to house her Pathfinder-Class Scout Ship, Observer, this docking bay is also accessed through the lower entrance. Though it is not as well used as the Bucket it still takes a position near the front of the hangar bay being that it is a ship that Kyra likes to work on in her free time. The area around it is often full of random tools and mechanical pieces, as well as a droid or two.
Hummingbird Docking Bay: This particular bay houses the swiftest ship in Kyra's arsenal, her Blacklight-Class Luxury Transporter, Hummingbird, and is positioned so that it can utilize either of the two entrances due to the fact that it is intended as a getaway ship. Unlike the other bays, this one is actually free from any form of cargo so as to ensure a faster escape should the need arise.
Living Quarters: Though it boasts only the bare necessities, the hangar has enough space to house enough individuals to man the Scavenger in its minimally crewed state. Outside of bunk space there is a long mess hall with an adjoining kitchenette that is only really useful for heating up staples, multiple refreshers, and a small rec-room which houses just a couple of game tables and seats to lounge around in. There is one small room set up for holo-comm purposes, in the event that a distress signal needs to be sent.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Before his fall, [member='Connor Harrison'] journeyed to Sarkany alongside [member='Kyra Sol'] in the hopes that a little serenity away from the chaos of the Galaxy might help the both of them. They used the quiet moon as a place to hide away from their responsibilities, for Kyra to learn the ways of the Force, and more about the greater Galaxy and the nature it housed. They created a small hut out of natural resources on the edge of a vast lake, where they could sit and fish, and for a time everything was great.
Until it wasn't.
Connor did not remain for long, eventually reemerging into the Galaxy and falling to the temptations of the Darkside. After finding out this information Kyra too forsake their piece of paradise and did not return for quite some time. Not until the memories of Connor were not quite so raw.
When she finally returned Kyra felt more determined to make the place her home, rather than some place she came back to every blue moon. Using funds she still had laying around from her time running Rahvin Industries the junker had a hangar commissioned and constructed into one of the mountainsides a mile or so from the fishing hut. It was created to house specific ships, as well as to provide extra space for future projects should they arise.
