- Description: Selected to protect the royal family. Each yovshin unit stands at a couple thousand strong and works as personal protection with each one armored in colors and banners to match their charge. Junko's with a jade like design to their armor and coloring that distinguish them from Shoma.

- Combat Function: Personal Defense, general units deployed to the field when Junko is in a fight or areas where she is overseeing them fall under attack and able to use weapons or vehicles to defend.
- Balanced: Trained and armed to serve as a balanced force to protect Junko and the ones who serve within her small palace.
- Highly Trained: With the newest changes and improvements to Atrisian education and military technique. THeir skills with guns, blades and vehicles or ships are top tier for the normal units with more getting specialized.
- Generalist: Trained as a well rounded unit which is beneficial as they do not have detrimental problems in a fight but it also means they are not specialized for certain scenarios.
- Numbers: While they have more numbers then most of the smaller units, the Yovshin are by most measures elite and personal units with each one being small enough for an area but not to overtake territory from another royal family member like a sansin.
More then simple farmers and children wanting to play at battle, the Yovshin are deeply seated in Atrisian nobility and culture. When Junko fled Atrisia from the One Sith taking it she was only able to get a small ships worth of her bodyguards and soldiers to come with her. Others stayed to allow her to flee and when they reached Shri-Tal they stayed at the lake estate until Junko decided to buy a proper home for them to live. She started hiring those who would serve her well and the ones she had were there training a new generation at first.
With them moving towards a better tier for defending their employer and princess. The unit works as a superior fighting force trained in the Atrisian martial arts and use of jar'kai even having special blades to combat force users. Once their initial training of the generation of Yovshin was completed the remaining guards from Atrisia were promoted to be a more elite unit with which ones were left.
The years have been kind for the yovshin within Junko's service... like many on Atrisia they have benefited from the era after all of the wars that saw Atrisian technologies rapidly develop and expand in terms of quality impropving their equipment but also the education reforms and physical training that the military and people go through. Now like many of the other Yovshin forces they are divided among the sansin and royal family into personal elite guards who act like a primary military force.
