Just Another Day In Paradise (Coruscant)(Open)

It was mid day on this particular section of the planet of Coruscant. The sun had been setting for a short time as one Dakken Marone was standing on a street corner, looking as ragged and dirty as many of the other residents of this district on Coruscant.

"'ey!" The dirty young man cried out to a young couple who was busy walking by, the couple being a Twi'lek and what looked like a Mon Calamari, had turned to face the dirtier man as he gestured to within his coat. "Ya wanna buy some death sticks?" And with a scrunch of their faces, the couple had just turned away and continued on their walk in the busy marketed area. "Awww come on! It'll help ya out! Maybe even forget who ya with!" The couple only scoffed as they walked hand in hand with each other and left the drug peddler behind them.

"Dang non-humans." The dealer muttered to himself as he turned back around to face the streets of Coruscant. Surely he could make a few credits today right?

Not that likely.

The fist that connected with Dakken's jawline sent the young man flying backwards against the restaurant that was considered part of Dakken's turf. These were his streets after all. His territory to deal in. But when Dakken looked up at the man who had delivered that blow to his face, all the color seemed to drain from his face.

The human stood at 6'1 and had some muscle on him. His attire was a suit, tie, a jacket, and of course the fedora atop of his head. But what was even more terrifying to the dealer was the blaster that was holstered under the man's left arm.

"Well looks like I've just caught you trying to deal, Dakken." The raspy tone of Inspector Josephus Kiren could be heard through the cigarette he smoked while he eyed Dakken like the prey that he was. "Which is a kriffin shame. You're gonna easily get a few years for peddling this druk you call product. But hey maybe you'll make someone very happy in the slammer and be safe?" The sarcastic tone couldn't be more apparent as the Inspector stepped into that alleyway so that the two could be out of sight from everyone else in the street.

"Awww c'mon Kiren! Why are you bustin' my chops? I don't know nothing!" Josephus could only shake his head in disappointment as he just heard the man try to deny something already. The inspector just leaned back as he eyed his usually reluctant informant with a scrutinizing expression. The cigarette was dropped and proceeded to be stepped on as Kiren just glanced over his shoulder to look out into the street. No other cops in sight. No witnesses. He could get rid of Dakken if he wanted too but the kriffin guy had his uses. "Relax, glass jaw, I'm not gonna send you to the slammer. I'm just wanting to know if you've heard anything on the streets about anything weird. Any leads I should be following up on? Any new players I should be eyeing for an investigation?"

Inspector Kiren was nothing if not thorough with his work. He just eyed the informant with that same expression of not caring. He knew what Dakken sold. He knew that people were always going to want what they shouldn't. But alas, that was the way of the galaxy. Dakken could only shake his head in the negative. It seemed like the underworld was okay on Coruscant for the time being. Spice dealers and death stick dealers were safe to do whatever they needed too. "Well if you hear anything, you got my other comm. Give me a holler. I don't like how quiet things have been lately." The man turned to leave then as the dealer just rubbed at his jaw with a sour expression on his face. He knew that with animals you had to hurt them just a bit to establish that dominance over them before offering a treat. "Who knows? You be a good boy and get me something, maybe your rival dealer over on the other side of the district can get snatched up real quick and processed before the week is over? That should line your pockets real good if you get his customers."

And with that in mind, Inspector Kiner turned and would start walking down that busy street in Coruscant. Most didn't care who he was or what he did. Half his department was nothing if not corrupt. They were the street level officers. They dealt with all sorts of crime. They weren't handling what "mattered" to officials like those in the Senate. So the Inspector was content to do what he needed to with his cases. And if he did help Dakken with eliminating a rival dealer from the game, that would just mean more credits to line his own pocket with since Dakken's own clientele would boom.

But for now, he was content for a simple walk through the busy streets of Coruscant.

Never in a million years would Zeraph think he would be on the streets looking for criminals on Coruscant, looking to scrape a few extra credits from the law around these parts. For the most part, those who had hired him within the criminal justice branch was looking to get rid of competition for larger crime lords. So why was it now that as Zeraph watched this transgression from afar was he so ready to leap into action? Surely the guy realized he was letting a drug dealer off with a simple slap on the wrist. Simply shaking his head, the merc moved in for action. Johnny Law here was his only problem, if he recognized him then his target would slip, if he didn't the beating he was going to have to give to the dealer would go very well noticed just to capture the guy.

This was the best Zeraph could do to help the galaxy out, this was all his power allowed him to do, merc work for the greater good and lesser evil. Funny, the merc starred at the detective from behind the mask he wore, finding it hilarious how Zeraph hid behind a mask, while the fuzz here was for everyone to see, yet they both were more than likely on the same side, though his criminal record would leave the bacon to believe otherwise.

All the masked man could do was casually walk in the direction of the copper, and pray it would end well.

Inspector Longway walked aimlessly through the streets of Coruscant, meditating internally. It was a somewhat strange way the man cleared his mind. The Jedi wasn't opposed to walking through the streets, either. It was a simple way of reminding the people of the Galactic Alliance that there was someone watching over them. The man was in uniform, a pristine blue coat with a silver cord under his left arm and a single red medal over his left breast. His lightsaber was also fixed to his belt, and on his epaulets was the symbol of the Jedi Order, within it the insignia of the Justicar.

Passing by a couple enjoying the warm weather, Longway tipped his hat, then turned his attention back to the streets. Surely somewhere there were vermin to be caught. The Jedi wouldn't yield for the night until he had caught a criminal. If there was one less in the streets, it usually meant that there was also one person or family that could sleep easier in the night without fear of falling prey to crime.

Woe to the one who unknowingly committed a crime in front of Inspector Longway.

It was mid-day on Coruscant, and Deedra was trying to decide where to stop and eat. The Twi'lek's fist was buried in her jacket pocket, tightening her grip on the few coins that were left to her name. Lunch might have to be light today. She shivered a little and hugged the jacket closer around her form. Coruscant was a cooler world than Ryloth, and she was still trying to adjust.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a dirty human male trying to sell death sticks on the street. She eyed him with something akin to pity in her gray eyes. Life, it seemed, was hard for people on this planet, as well.

The young man's life suddenly got a little harder when he was decked by another guy. This one looked to be in better shape, with a detective's clothing and hat, and a blaster that he brandished all too quickly towards the drug dealer. The pair of them disappeared behind the wall of an alleyway, and Deedra suddenly found herself very interested in this little scene.

She timed her pace just well enough that she caught the tail end of their conversation in the alleyway. It seemed the detective was looking for information on the street. And yet, he was dressed the way police men sometimes dressed. How interesting.

He needed information, and he was willing to reward this unfortunate drug dealer for it. The little guy didn't have anything for him today, she guessed. Keeping her head down as she passed by, Deedra slowed her pace so that the detective would end up walking side-by-side with her without even realizing it.

As they walked, Deedra turned her head backward for a brief moment to get a last glimpse of the drug dealer. As she watched the young man scamper off, she couldn't help but notice a masked male figure walking behind them. The purpose in his walk, the way his head had focused on the detective....unless Deedra was wrong, she had seen this happen before, during a street brawl back on Ryloth. The male figure behind them was an assassin, and he was following his target.

Suddenly, she had an idea for how she could earn some quick creds.

"Oh, darling - there you are!" The Twi'lek exclaimed, her voice husky and accented. As she spoke, she grabbed the detective's arm and pulled him closer, to make it look like they were just a regular couple walking down the steet together.

She turned her head towards her new-found companion and dropped her voice, not making eye contact with him.

"Don't look now...but you have company. Someone must want you dead. You want information? I can get it for you, but I'm going to need some money in exchange. How about I help you get out of this alive, and we can talk then?"

As the last vestige of light began to fade a creature of darkness awoke. Enzo picked himself up from the filthy moldy couch that he had been sleeping on and scanned the abandoned apartment building with predatory eyes. There was no sign of intrusion and the Vampirika moved gracefully from the couch to a nearby broken window. From the shadows he watched as what appeared to be an officer of the law harassed someone. A drug dealer Enzo thought and paid the exchange little mind. It was only when the officer left the scene that Enzo became vested in the situation. He was hungry…

A rogue Vampirika from a Carpathian coven. Exiled on pain of death by sith interlopers Enzo was on his own, but still the creed of his former coven held true in his heart. As such he found himself trying to do good in a galaxy that often shunned his kind. If the Coruscant coven finds out I am here… Enzo needed to find a way off Coruscant and soon. Still that did not mean he could not do a little good along the way. He crawled out of the broken window and began to scale the wall. When he was sufficiently close to the ground Enzo dropped to the ground unnoticed by his prey. He crept behind the man as he approached the edge of the alley way.

Enzo placed a hand over the drug dealer’s mouth and pulled him deeper into the shadows. Enzo’s fangs elongated and he sunk them deep into the fiend’s neck. As the last of life drained from the drug peddler Enzo guided the man's body gently to the ground. A chill wind crept through the air and Enzo dawned the drug dealer’s jacket. He stuck his hands into the pockets for warmth and was pleased when he felt the light rattle of coins. Fed, Clothed, and a little money in his pocket. The night seemed to be looking up. Maybe tonight was the night he finally got off this rock.

Enzo exited the dark alley way and entered the large crowded walk ways of Coruscant.

As the depths of Coruscant became overrun by the shroud of darkness Adron wondered if his time to move had finally come. Leaning against the corner of an alley he must have been quite the sight. A young man, hair as black as the cloth he wore, holding up a corner across from a condemned apartment complex. It had been surprising to say the least, to see that none of Coruscant's peace officer's had approached him for the conspicuousness of his appearance.

The Count had been tracking his target for a few days now, and would not let him slip away.

"There you are." He mumbled, his eyes coming to life as he watched a man exit the condemned complex through a window, scaling the building with expert skill.

Moments later Adron watched as a man in the next alley, was pulled into the shadows. A few more moments passed and Adron reached out with The Force, trying to ascertain the actions happening behind the curtain of darkness. However, where he had sensed two men he now sensed one.

A vibrodagger was strapped to the side of Adron's waist. The dagger's sheathe and hilt were of an elegant design, the crest of his house displayed gracefully on the base of the sheathe. His hands wrapped around the hilt to the weapon, underneath the concealment of his black cloak. As his target finally erupted from the darkness Adron moved from his own place in cover, following the man silently.

He followed him for nearly three blocks until finally the crowd thinned and Adron's step increased, he paced himself until he was walking side-by-side with the man. "Nice evening, isn't it?" The Count questioned, a smile coming to his face as he turned to the man.

Formorta did not usually venture into the core worlds because of the high population density and large crowds, which made her uncomfortable, but this occasion forced her to make a compromise if she was to get in proper contact with this Count Malvern. The count had contacted her about a possible position in the dominion. Despite being a mercenary and accepting other contracts or job over the holo-net being a common practice of hers, for a position that would could possibly and permanently change her life a more formal and face to face approach would be required, especially if she had to get use to working with other people.

Tracking his last know locating from the message she received earlier when discussing certain aspects of the dominion Formorta was able to roughly pinpoint the count whereabouts in the city planet. It did not take long for her to spot the out of place count his physical appearance and clothing making him fairly visible, but also he seemed to be emiting a sense of patience and waiting. Formorta looking though her Macrobinoculars notice that the count had that look on his face of someone who was on a mission, not wanting to possibly mess up and meeting or contract she kept her distance and waited to see what events would take place.

It didn't take long for her to find out as, the count as well as her noted a man climbing though a window scaling a building and dispersing from her sight into an alleyway, 'was that what the count was here for, but why?' she wondered. Formrota continued to tail the count from a distance through the crowd slowly deciding to get on higher ground through some of the derelict buildings. She contued to observe the count tailing some until he was walking up next the another man who she assumed to be the same on who climbed out the previous building window.

Un-holstering her KiSteer 1284 she took a kneeling position and looked though the scope and waited to see how the events played out.

Unfortunately for Inspector Kiren, his informant and also 'business associate' had met an end by something that wasn't a human. If it couldn't be stopped, then the only likelihood was that Enzo might find the blood a tad distasteful. Dakken had been using as well as selling. No doubt the drugs might have affected his blood in some way. But very unlikely all the same.

The Inspector was a great many things. A fan of liquor, cigarettes, and of course credits. But to make extra profit meant having to skirt around the law and all the red tape that was out there for cops like him. His years on the streets of Coruscant had taught him that much at least. But he had been taught something else that had caused him to worry as of late. Things were too quiet in his neck of the woods. Coruscant was meant to be the capital of the entire Galaxy and yet things were quiet in the underworld? It didn't sit well with Josephus in the slightest. Not one bit. Something was happening, something was taking shape in the underworld, and he needed to understand what it was so he could do what he did best. Adapt.

"Hm?" The sudden shout of 'darling' had certainly been enough to get the attention of the officer as his arm was then grabbed by the unknown female. For a brief moment, the Inspector had thought about yanking his arm away and to start shouting at the woman. But when he got a good look at her, he couldn't deny that he wouldn't have minded this woman on his arm and more. Twi'leks had an exceptional beauty to them that males of many species.....admired. So much so that they were a top prize in slave markets. Not that Josephus had ever dealt with that kind of kriffin stuff. His business was mainly in extortion of criminals.

"Yeah?" And maybe his voice was a tad huskier than it should have been as they continued to walk along that path in the busy district of Coruscant. Joe wanted to look behind him but he knew that might not end so well. If his 'assassin' had an idea that he knew he was made, then he would split fast. Josephus would have to lure him elsewhere. No. He had to make another play. His head turns to glance right at his new companion, the bemusement evident in his eyes, as he spoke so quietly to her. "And what else will you give me besides information, gorgeous? I can think of a few things..." The faintest of smirks was definitely tugging at the corner of his mouth as he looked down at this beauty beside him. No doubt she would think him a lecher, perv, and so much more just by how he was coming on to her. But she had asked for it by calling him darling and grabbing his arm. Now he was in on the fun.

"All flirting aside, I'm giving you the chance now to walk away. I can take whoever is following me but I'm not gonna lie. It's gonna be messy." His eyes are straight ahead now, his focus returning to him, as his heart started to beat a tad faster than before. The adrenaline rush was bound to kick in when he got his blaster out. But Kiren wasn't about to start blasting people right in the middle of the street. As the 'couple' continued on that path, Kiren would see the uniformed individual up ahead. There was certainly something to the man's attire that caused Josephus to pause and consider. Was this man with another precinct or a military branch? Even so, it put Josephus on edge as they were bound to pass him. That meant that Longway and Zeraph were bound to pass one another as well. And even worse, Longway was bound to be heading for the trio that was back at the alleyway that Dakken had been at.

"I'm gonna turn down the alley. If you have a blaster or any weapon, get ready." And with that said, the Inspector would make a sharp left into that alley. Away from the people of Coruscant and away from whoever was following him. Kiren would practically drag the Twi'lek as he moved to get to the next corner of that alleyway. With that done, he would take a step back and have his own back against that wall. His arm would be yanked free from her grasp as he reached inside of his to grasp at the blaster pistol that was holstered inside of his coat. A bead of sweat was starting to form at his brow as he waited for whoever it was to follow them in that alleyway. Slowly, that pistol would be unholstered and raised upward as he lied in wait for his adversary to arrive.

"All flirting aside, I'm giving you the chance now to walk away. I can take whoever is following me but I'm not gonna lie. It's gonna be messy."

Deedra eased her grip on his arm, taking his words as a sign that maybe she really should get out of the way. She had seen him deck that drug dealer earlier; he seemed like he really could handle himself. And she hadn't really minded his flirting.

"Alright, I'll move along, then. If you come out alive, maybe we can meet up again sometime."

She lifted her lips slightly in an amused grin, and turned away as he turned into the next alleyway, out of sight. Deedra's legs picked up the pace, carrying her faster away from the scene as she drew up the collar of her jacket around her neck and lowered her head, drifting away into the crowd.

Enzo walked through the crowded streets unnoticed by the masses. He was content with this, in his almost five thousand years of existence people seemed to scarcely pay him any attention. Especially dressed as he was, dirty leather jacket, black jeans, and mid top boots. He looked every part your average spacer. So, when the crowd thinned out and he was approached by another he became quite surprised. The man sported slicked back dark hair and black clothing. He looked nothing out of the ordinary, so Enzo suspected he was simply another bored traveler much like himself.

But, just consuming a litre of spiced out blood left Enzo jittery. He eyed the man suspiciously and wondered if he knew about the deed he had just performed. Surely not? Enzo thought to himself. He had thought no one was paying any attention when he scaled the wall. But, he had been wrong before... Enzo reached into the jacket pocket in search of a knife, but as he felt the contents he was sorely disappointed when all he found was a bag of spice. The man commented on the evening and Enzo decided he meant no harm anyways. Yet.

“Yes, it is a wonderful night,” Enzo nodded then gave the man a jaded stare that beseeched nothing “My name is Enzo,” He said in his baritone voice.

Formorta continued to watch the exchange through her scope between the count and the other man who's name eluded her. The stranger seemed to be just your normal space traveler of lower class but if he was meeting with the count for any possible reason he had to be important somehow.

Continuing to watch the interaction she noticed the stranger reaching into his jacket for something, when he did not present anything this only raised her interest and provided more questions than answers. She was certain he wasn't carrying a blaster of any sort due to the lack of any significant bumps in his attire, so why was he checking his jacket, did he have something to give to the count information?

'The suspense is killing me', was all she could mumble to herself watching as the stranger replied back to the counts presumable greeting with his own, or something along the lines.

Darkness had completely taken the streets now, the only havens of light being the few scattered street lamps that still worked enough to produce a source of illumination. Adron took notice of the shadows and how easily they could be turned against him, yet another reason the Count felt no reason to venture to Coruscant. "Adron, it's a pleasure." He returned, pleased to have a name from the target he had been chasing. "Pretty new to Coruscant myself, know of any place to grab a bite?" He asked, stepping in front of the man as he did.

"I've been trying to find you for a while now Enzo." He stated, his voice lowering as he did. "It's very difficult to track your kind on a planet with a population such as this. I was actually very fortunate to find you." Adron's words carried as he produced his vibrodagger from his cloak, allowing it to rest against his leg where Enzo could see it.

"I'm curious." A low ring could be heard as the blade was pulled from it's place in it's sheathe. "Would you like a job?" The Count asked, holding the weapon out to Enzo for him to take into his own.

"I've been tracking you because I can use your skills. I need someone like you back where I'm from, and you seemed available. What say we have a talk about it?"

Formorta was official confused, when the count walked in-front of the man and presented the elaborate blade she thought that the next action would involve some sort of dismemberment. Unable to hear the conversation from afar she could only speculate what was being said at the. "I really need to invest in some sort of sound amplifier".

Any possible acts of violence running through her mind was silenced as the count presented the blade to the man, was he a mercenary or sorts what skills does he have that the count would need. She contemplated this for a bit, the man was a expert climber and was out very late a night, "wait could he be one of those", she mumbled now probably aware of why the count came all the way out here for one person.

"maybe it would be best for me to make a silent exit, though if the count was as gifted in the force as i suspect hes probably already detected my presence and knows I'm following them". Holstering her KiSteer she made her way down the outside of building in the general direction of the two into the streets.

Enzo listened idly as the man introduced himself. He asked about a place to eat and Enzo frowned. If he does know… Enzo tensed as he prepared to run, Adron stepped in front of him and he knew their would be no escape. Adron fiddled with something behind his back and Enzo became sure he was reaching for a weapon. He produced a blade and Enzo eyed it warily. But, rather than stabbing the Vampir with it he offered it to Enzo.

“Wh- why me?” Enzo asked dumbfounded by Adron’s actions.

If the man knew what he was why would he want a monster like Enzo by his side? Still Enzo took the blade. It was a way of this rock and Enzo would not squander it. Suddenly they were approached by another. A human with a rather large gun

Bringing his hands into his pockets Adron found a sense of satisfaction when the man took the weapon. "I am always looking for two things. A way to help someone and a way to help myself. I think I've found those in you. Now, if you'd like to continue playing hide-and-bite in the depths of Coruscant be my guest. But, if you'd like money, power, and a purpose far greater than yourself. Come with me."

Both of the men turned their attention to a woman, white of hair, walking towards them. The Count smiled softly at the sight of the woman before nodding. "Like you, she is newly under my employment. Today's become quite the productive day for a great many people."

Once the woman arrived Adron inclined his head respectfully. "Ms. Formota, correct? It's my honor to finally meet you in person. I'd like you to meet Mr. Enzo, a newly-found friend of mine, which makes him also a friend of yours."

The mercenary had been contracted by Adron some days ago, yet her appearance here was a surprise. "Why don't I treat the two of you to a meal? Maybe something warm to drink?" He questioned the two.

"Yes you correct Count [member="Adron Malvern"]". She said while doing a shirt bow out of respect and waited for the count to introduce her to the other man.

She had been on world for a few days before hand tracking down a target with another bounty hunter, which lead to her tracking the count down because of it convenience, besides it was always good to meet male contact with potenital long term employers and she did have some employment questions to ask.

"Hello [member="Enzo Carpathia"] I guess we will might be working together at some point in the future, I'm a mercenary, bounty hunter, tracker and the ocational assassin"

She waited for Enzos really before answering the counts request for her to join them for a meal together, though it wasn't something's she planned on doing it couldn't hurt to get more familaier with them, which is something she would need to improve on if the Dominion became a permanent job.
