Jynx Vs. Iniquitous

The hangar bay of an ImpStar Deuce (Imperial-II class Star Destroyer) is vast, and grey, devoid of the activity that would normally be found on a warship.

The hangar is roughly 100 meters deep, 50 meters across and 50 meters high with solid metal decking. There are 4 cargo crates sitting on a tug platform off to the left side of the room if the combatants are facing the aperture to space.

There are 2 TIE/LN parked in the back of the hangar, one on each side, and 2 more hanging from the ceiling in their storage mounts.

There is a hanging gangway over the hangar floor that allows pilots access to the stored TIE/LN from the glass ATC station located on the very back wall of the hangar.

The room is well lit, there is no wind and no personnel. The force field is active and fighters are in no danger of being sucked out into space.

The fighters will enter from opposite sides. The fight will go on until either one or both fighters is dead or incapacitated, a fighter surrenders either verbally or by leaving the bay, or time runs out.

May the Force be with you.

The elevator gave a monotonous groan as it descended. It filled the unwanted emptiness where elevator music usually resided. The elevator came to a stop. The stale hangar air created a brief breeze as it equalized pressure. Jynx took slow deliberate steps - the sound of which gave to rhythmic metallic echoes.

She held her weapon almost vertical to her right side. A steel white partisan, it bore a symmetrical blade - oval and polished with a weighted end. It was weapon of large reach: it's blade rested on her shoulder, edging slightly above Jynx's head. Her armour, on the other hand, being durasteel chain and plate, was of a duller colour. A testament to it's worth. Or probably just wear and tear...

Iniquitous awoke with a start, the metallic clank of boots on durasteel shaking him from his apparent nap. He sat up slowly and stretched, the tie fighter he was laying on swaying gently. He pushed himself to his feet and surveyed his surroundings. He didn't remember coming here, nor how he got way up here. He looked to his right and down...There it was beside his foot. The EPBOW. With a groan he glared at the bottle, shook his head, and let the Force fill his body, burning what could have been a nasty hangover out of his body.

He noted his opponent walking slowly through the hanger and leaped from the TIE fighter, landing in a gentle crouch on the hanger floor. He stood and brushed his pants off brusquely, eyeing her up and down.

"So which is it? Daenerys? Or Aqua Lad? Either way. Nice poker. Can I have this dance?"

He bowed with the last word, his right arm flourishing out and across, like a gentleman. However, anyone who knew even the slightest about this giant of a man knew that he was rarely a gentleman in a fight.....As his hand waved across, he unleashed a wave of Force Energy, almost as if he was giving his opponent a back hand slap to the head. If that slap was with a concrete post.........

His landing broke the rhythm of her steps - a bass note interrupting her movement.
"So which is it? Daenerys? Or Aqua Lad? Either way. Nice poker. Can I have this dance?"
The words were acknowledged at the edge of her mind. Jynx observed her opponent perhaps as much or moreso than he had observed her. Although there was not much at first glance, she could already feel the power coursing through him. It bubbled right underneath the surface of his body.
Though, that wasn't for long. As it was with his flourishing bow the energy within him had manifested itself; he struck first. Jynx could't hope to battle a force of this magnitude head-on. She therefore utilized the limited Force Ability she possessed to form a wedge against the oncoming force. Jynx slightly jumped at the moment of impact, attempting to translate the destructive energy into a backwards movement.
Yet despite her efforts the strike still jarring, the feeling eliciting pain in every bone - comparable to an intense headache. Jynx managed to land on two feet, still, sliding a few centimetres backwards. She paused for a second and shook her head to regain composure - the pain slowly fading to a dull ache.
"Oh you must be very popular with the ladies..."

He finished the flourish and stood upright, his twin black bladed sabers slapping into his palms and erupting into violent life. There was a subtle beauty in the low hum of the ultra destruction weapon. His ice blue eyes traced her frame once then returned to her own gaze

"I prefer Infamous."

The tri-octave of his voice cutting a deep rumble, a mid timbre and lower note that was felt more than heard. He slid his left foot forward, his left blade held low and across, his hand nearly resting on his thigh. His right arm hung at his side, the blade mm's from the durasteel floor. He turned his left foot ever so slightly, his toes now pointing to his own right, his back foot planted.

"Well? Come on then. Lets see if you can use that pig sticker as well as your wit"

Dual blades... Her advantage was range and strength. The corpse-to-be before her had the advantage of a larger area of control. And unlike her own weapon, his had the ability to make a single cut deadly. Contact was not an option.
Jynx held her partisan, left hand by the end and the other where the weapon met her hip by her right side. Its tip was pointing towards the ground behind with her body directly facing her opponent. It made for a larger target area ,but that was a luxury she could afford with a weapon so long.

"Well, I hope you don't mind being the pig I stick"

Jynx quickly stepped towards her opponent with her right foot forward. She then entered the zone just within her weapon's range - were it pointed forward - trying to remain beyond her opponent. Jynx attempted to quickly strike with the weapon, forming an arc over her right shoulder and synchronously dropping into a low crouch to increase the force of impact. Let's see if he sees this one coming.. With the crouch, she would then disconnect the muscles around her right hip and allowing her hip to sink 10cm more than humanely possible into her right side. Hopefully, facilitating a rapid change in direction of force should the opponent defend the overhead strike and catching him off-guard.

Not what he expected, but not wholly unexpected either. It was true her greatest strength with her weapon was it's reach. But his greatest strength was his, well, strength. He wasn't just some massive brute though. Years of battle, training and war had honed the 6'7" Iniquitous into a rather potent tool of the Dark Side.

As the weapon came down, he snapped his left arm up, catching the incoming wiener roaster (he hoped), the force of the blow causing his arm to buckle slightly. Pushing his left arm out and down, he hoped to deflect the weapon in the same direction. Stepping forward with his right leg, he snapped it out and up, like a soccer player. He released a powerful force kick, utilizing Projected fighting, the strength of the kick coming not form the force but from the user himself. His aim was to kick Jynx's head basically off. it looked like he was kicking air, but anyone who has seen ROTJ, or was familiar with Projected Fighting, knew this was not the case. He brought his right leg back down, his right blade coming across, looking to slam into the haft of the longer weapon, either to cut it in half, or knock it out of her hands.

Alright, so let's go ahead and get this out of the way: [member="Iniquitous"] wins.

This was a fairly short match, all things considered. That's a shame, because this one looked to have a lot of potential. There was good chemistry between the fighters. They played off each other well, and the banter was entertaining.

Inky takes the match for scoring the only real hit of the fight. His projected fighting looked like it would be a serious problem for [member="Jynx"] in the long run, the short run, and all the runs in between. It's possible she might have figured out how to counter, but judging by the precedents set so far, it seems unlikely.

That's not to say that she would have made it easy for him. Her spear work, the little bit I saw, looked to be impressive, and if she could have kept him at arms' length, he'd have probably spouted all kinds of leaks.

Anyway, Inky, you crusty old bastard, congrats on making it to the semi-finals. Jynx, it was a pleasure to watch you fight, and I hope you'll stick around in the GBA.
