Personality:
Carrying form the ideas of the K1-series droid, this droid is also based on the personality of [member="Lady Kay"]. However, it has a few alterations. While it still maintians the kind, friendly, and out-going nature of its predecessor, this series has an added love of danger, as well as a propensity to get itself into trouble. The love of tea was previously underestimated in the K1 units, so the K2's have an addiction to the stuff. Unfortunately, droids cannot drink tea. Their social graces, kind nature, and compassion have carried over from the previous droids. Its practically impossible to not like this droid, just like the K1's and nnow, thanks to popular demand, these units come with vocabulators that speak Basic, as well as an additional language for programming.
Development:
But wait a minute, you say, didn't James Justice already order the creation of a droid with the personality of Lady Kay? Your right, he did. However, with the success of the first unit, and the general love of Lady Kay (as well as the fact that he knows no one else with "K" as the first letter of their name), James ordered a second to be made after the likeness of Kay. When the developers asked what to make different, James said to make this unit more piloting based and less mechanically based. It made sense, since the first unit was on a "proficient" pilot, but everyone loved to use theirs as metal limo drivers anyway! To fill the need for more skilled pilots, the K2 was made. However, added to the personality matrix was a more accurate portion of Kay's personality that had previously been over looked; the thrilling love of danger. Since pilots have a need to be in love with this, it was added, and James sat back to enjoy the rain of credits.
