Description:
A massive duracrete ring, situated on the rocky soil of Laranis II’s western continent, featuring a main processing and control facility which houses a warehouse and bunkhouse for workers, the mine is powered by a subterranean power plant and protected by a powerful shield generator, as well as scores of Kaas Industries’ private security forces. Churning night and day, the mine boasts one of the largest deposits of phrik discovered in recent years and the profits from it helped stoke Andro Kaas’ meteoric rise to power and status within the Laranis System Protectorate.
POINTS OF INTEREST -
- Duracrete Ring - A massive ring, 15.25m high and 48.80m wide, which houses a circular corridor within itself, off from which can be found several barracks facilities for workers and security personnel, storerooms, mechanical rooms, and other facilities.
- Control Complex - Several stories tall, with control rooms, workshops, and elevators descending into the bowels of the mine, where also are located the power plant and shield generator. Security control rooms are also located below, while the security apparatus continues throughout the entire facility.
To protect its various holdings and assets, Kaas Industries maintains a large private security force, a portion of which acts as protection for this mine. In addition to the well-armed guards and small arms, the mine is protected by a shield generator (particle and energy), advance warning systems, a network of cameras and surveillance, a duracrete perimeter wall with sufficient armament to fend off a good-size raid or attack in most cases.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Discovered by Andro Kaas, the mine became the foundation for Kaas Industries, now the wealthiest and most prominent corporation in the Laranis System. Established shortly after the fall of the Galactic Alliance, the profits derived from this mine taken together with his own acumen and savvy catapulted Kaas to system-wide dominance.
