"The Krae"
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
There are considered to be two paths within the soul, emotion, and thought. Some people are more prone to one or the other, but are expected to incorporate ideas of both into their life. A person who pursues only the path of emotion is prone to succumbing to them. A person who only pursues the path of thought often seems to become useless. Both paths are known to have a form of alchemy, one which may lean either way or not at all. Though those who take the Path of Emotion often are more likely to carry weapons that have great power, and may be ill advised to be used around those who take the path of Thought.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Kakoran’s name origin, nor their exact time origin, isn’t perfeclty recorded. What is known is that they began fairly early on in the process of Vran’Ti when the Vran first began manufacturing the organs called the Vo, their obsession with advanced organic science having already taken hold came with the creation of a force sensitive organ. It was placed opposite the heart to symbolize it’s significance and required surgery to put in. In time the Kakorans came to consider this organ, which allowed them to boost their bodies physically and to even sometimes telekinesis, to be the manifestation of the soul. They would eventually also learn to encode its growth into their very DNA, so they no longer had to spend so much time producing them. Their obsession grew, especially as on rare occasions individuals were able to maximize the organs use, and use powers such as telepathy, much stronger telekinesis, and other supernatural gifts. Though these individuals would be known to others as force sensitives, to them they were the true hands of the soul. And that was how they became known. The Vo Ni. They were considered superior to others and were trained from birth. As they grew in number and began to spread to more of the planet, they began to put all the organs of dead Vo Ni in one place, hidden away, and called it the soul of the world. Known as the Vran’Ti Vo. It was believed that some could speak for the Vran’Ti Vo, and the orders of the world were the orders of the race. However it grew more and more powerful, and fewer and fewer Vo could be added as some Vo Ni began even to die in the process of surgically attaching each Vo to it. Those who didn’t, grew stronger by being in its presence. A decision was made, and the title of Vran’Ti Vo Ni was created. Only those who had proven themselves to be the strongest were permitted the position, as fewer and fewer were able to even stand the presence of the Vran’Ti Vo. As the official hand of Vran’Ti’s soul, the Vran’Ti Vo Ni held almost absolute authority, but also had to serve the people by giving them the word of the planet. And personally adding in each organ to the ever growing force nexus as force sensitive organ after force sensitive organ was placed into it. They continued to consider the Vo essentially a sacred thing, and as a result, began to believe only those who had it could be considered truly people. And that people who commited the worst acts, didn’t deserve to have them. Serial killers, traitors, terrorists, they all were considered deserving of having their Vo removed and essentially made into slaves with no purpose beyond that of any other animal, to serve those with the Vo. Their former lifestyle of hard work and science also moved over well, and continued to be considered extremely important to be knowledgeable in organic science and to live lives of work and effort to succeed. The result was a race of people with an obsession with organic science, who worked extremely hard, and considered almost everyone else little more than an intelligent bi-ped. They were smart enough to keep this to themselves, and it is rare for an outsider to learn anything of the Vran’s culture. Not just because, to them, you don’t inform the livestock you’re going to sheer them for wool, but because the Vran became somewhat isolationist. Not wanting outsiders to do much with them beyond aid them via business here and there.
Kakoran is sometimes used when referring to the government of Vran’Ti, this however is not done because the religion dictates it. As Vran’Ti itself is considered to be the decision maker, not the Vran’Ti Vo Ni, who is just the hand of the planet. Rather, Kakoran is used to differentiate when using the name of the planet would be problematic for conversational or formal purposes.

- Religion Name: Kakoran
- Member name: Kakoranite (rarely used)
- Religion Type: Force based
- Influence: Planetary (Almost all Vran species believe in the religion, even if off world)
- Influence Area: Vran’Ti
- Symbol: Vo. Appears most often in the form of something like a heart and is typically shown with colorful “vein” like structures surrounding it. This is an artistic expression to show the nerves and uniqueness of the organ. It is often mistaken for a heart by outsiders.
- Description: Although the name Kakoran is rarely used, as almost the entire planet of Vran’Ti embraces it, is the belief that is almost universal among all Vran. It involves a wide set of systems and ideas revolving around the Vo, which the Vran believe to be the soul of the species. The force is deeply connected to their society as a result, because the Vo is a force sensitive organ that has been genetically created by their species a long time ago and what makes members of it so powerful when there are force sensitives among them, and what grant others their powers.
- Founder: The first to go by the name Kakoran’s are unknown. But it is believed it began long ago not long after the Vran initially began implanting Vo’s into one another and then learned to make the bodies grow it themselves.
- Membership: Although technically anyone can believe in the Kakoran believes, those who do not possess a Vo are not taken into account when counting up numbers or considering membership. Even if they claim to be a part of it. The Vo is the central part of the religion, if a person has one and follows the rules, they are a Kakoran, if they lack one then no matter how many rules they follow they are nothing.
- Sacred: The Vo, as it is believed to be the soul. There is only one condition in which a Vo can be taken from a person without consequence. Pre-meditated murder, torture (usually ignored if done by a force sensitive, also called a Vo Ni), the destroying of another person’s Vo, extreme potential dangers such as attempting a bombing or intentionally ignoring warnings, and terrorist actions, all can bring about it’s removal. But especially important is the planet’s Vo. Which has been made of many Vo’s from many force sensitives (Vo Ni) who passed away. Making it a Nexus of power, but keeping it hidden and guarded.
- Dogma:
- The Kakoran believe that the Vo is the soul. Without a Vo a person is just like an animal and has much more limited rights.
- It is important to live a life of knowledge and hard work. Those who are lazy in either area are often viewed as outcasts.
- The Vran’Ti Vo is the soul of the planet and has a will of its own.
- A Vo Ni (“Hand of the soul”) is a person who is able to use the full potential of their Vo which grants them other abilities. They are seen as being able to perform the works of the soul which give them much higher rank and leeway, along with incredible power. Vo Ni are highly respected but not infallible.
- The Vran’Ti Vo Ni is a position that can only be obtained, not granted. It is a Vo Ni who became more powerful than the rest, sometimes proving this through combat or testaments of power in competition. The Vran’Ti Vo Ni is seen as almost infallible and able to speak for the planet’s soul itself. They have the right to change laws essentially at will. There are duties the Vran'Ti Vo Ni must preform, such as surgically connecting the Vo's of Vo Ni into the Vran'Ti Vo. And giving judgement, protection, and rule to the planet.
- There are two main areas of Vo users, Path of Emotion and the Path of Thought. These two paths are not generally seen as completely exclusive and both are considered acceptbale, but aspects of both are often incorporated.
- A Grai Vo is still more important than a person who is actually without a Vo. This is why no effort is made to remove the Vo of a Grai Vo, even though it is essentially killing them at a far faster rate than if they had none at all.
- A Vo without a body should be kept in a safe place. As even if the body were of a bad person, the Vo is still valuable.
- The path of emotion: (The Dark side). The Path of Emotion is one which is followed most often by warrior Vo Ni. People who have chosen to take the path of active combat primarily. Those who follow this path are expected to learn to empower themselves through emotion without obeying their emotion. It is common for those who follow this path to be expected to perform a task they do not want to do, while using their emotions to do it. This is to help enforce a willpower to resist emotion. Although the Path of Emotion is often not looked upon as extremely profitable, it is seen as very powerful. And those who use it often become incredibly dangerous in combat and produce many powerful abilities, among them being things like necromancy. Those who choose this path often tread an unsteady path between the strictness of a hardworking society, and the desires of their emotions to be set completely free rather than forced to perform for the desires of the user.
- The path of thought: (The Light side). The Path of thought is the path of the most control. And unlike the path of emotion they are not expected to use their emotions at all, even if they do of their own choice. Those who pursue this path are expected first to learn great amounts of patience. They are the ones most prone to learning how to heal, see into the future, and are often much more aware of things then those of the emotion path. They typically become leaders in politics and sometimes strategists, as their ability to keep a clear mind and be influenced by their soul (the force) lends them greater insight into battle. Not everyone choose the path of Thought because it is easiest for them. Some choose the Path of Thought because the path of emotion would drive them insane, even if it were to bring them great power. To let ones own path lead them into a descent of the mind is considered a fault, even if it does result in incredible strength.
- Reputation: The Kakoran religion is not extremely well known by off-worlders as they do not speak much about it. Most Vran know better than to tell outsiders what they really think of them and instead hide their positions. What is known is that they have a force sensitive priest and priestess like nobility, and an overruling priest(ess) who has a greater say in things than any of the other. It is often not realized that the devotion to working hard and knowing great amounts of knowledge is due to this same religion/culture.
