Strengths:

-Wise and intellectual, Kal generally finds out motives and alternative plans by himself.
-Kal's hulking body makes hand-to-hand combat his specialty.
Weaknesses:
-Other than his presence using effect mind, Kals other force abilities are incredibly under-developed and for the most part unusable.
-Combat abilities with lightsabers are only competent. Kal prefers to avoid violence.
Traits:
-Truly lonely in his world. Kal desperately wishes to find someone else in the galaxy that shares his teachings. This is a consequence of his actions in the Jedi temple on Dantooine.
-Due to his inability to learn true lightsaber forms because of a lack of a master, Kal is slowly creating his own form that is complimented by his physical strength.
-Kal wants to pass on his knowledge to new jedi.

Lawful Neutral. Analytical and wise. Believes knowledge is true power.
Story:
Kal began his life as a rich student, studying at colleges through the galaxy. Barely 18 years old, He had been refused from the jedi academy due to his immaturity and lack of urgency. Studying abroad meant nothing when he failed most ever class he enrolled in, however.
His parents assured that he was a smart kid, and he truly was; yet it never held his attention. At 19 years of age, Kal was arrested for the act of assaulting his principle on Narr Shadaa. The authority file was vague though, While it used the words "assault" and "attack", there were no marks on the man. The only damage the principle endured was that of his mind being a mangled mess. It wasn't intentional, and that was what scared Kal the most. He was angry, being expelled for the twelfth time by that man. Whatever Kal did, that man would never say another legible word until the day he died.
Finally after spending the night in a dirty jail cell, a Jedi master arrived and consulted the kid. While Kal may have been refused from the Jedi academy on the first try, now the Jedi had reason to accept him; to protect everyone else. Kal, facing either life in prison or the next 5 years as a Jedi padawan.
That day, he was shipped off to a jedi temple on Dantooine. The next 5 years were spent with desperate attempts to teach Kal to use his ability to effect minds and restrain it. All these attempts were mostly in vain. While he no longer had outbursts and uncontrollable fluctuation in his mind reading abilities, his rage would twist the minds of anyone near him.
It was for this very reason that Kal was never allowed to be more than just a padawan, and the Jedi kept him at that rank as a form of imprisonment. This way, he couldn't hurt anyone on the outside.
Kal was ridiculed and bullied without cease for being a 24 year old man, still a padawan struggling to control his power. This kind of social hell tends to keep people withdrawn, and Kals fun loving personality was dulled yet not defeated. At night, the little joy in life that the kid could find was spent in the library reading about jedi battles of old. Kal loved learning about the heroes that walked the earth, the battles between Malak and Revan, Skywalker and Vader, Nhilis and Surik. All of these great battles and wars that shaped history. The power struggle of sith and jedi alike. It was here that the stability of the jedi was tested in Kals mind, and his alignment was defined.
Night after night for a whole year, Kal reflected on the wars of old, reliving them in his mind, seeing the true horrors of battle. Sometimes during his regular training sessions, he would sneak glimpses into his masters mind, and see the wars and battles he fought. All the bloodshed.
Through all this, Kal had one friend to speak his mind too. Ashlyn was her name, and she would be the only girl he would ever love. And Kal truly did love her. He would sneak into her mind and experience her life with her, see everything about her. She was his one and only, whether she knew it or not. She was the only one who knew about his unraveling of the jedi and sith history, his disgust with the wars of old and new. She in some part shared this view with him. His teaching let her understand the true stupidity of such battles of light and dark.
A whole year later and nothing changed but Kals mindset. He was more mature, and craved more understanding of the force. He wanted to know why the light and dark must fight, why there must be any polar sides. Kal finally brought up his conflict with his Master, and was greeted only with fear. His master went to the Jedi council, and ultimately decided that true imprisonment was the only way to protect the galaxy from Kal. He was dangerous.
Kal caught wind and went to flee from the temple, to go somewhere else. After packing his belongings, he rushed to Ashlyns room, only to find her reluctant to escape with him. She couldn't, the jedi was her whole life. She was going to give up all his teaching to the council and every plan he had was going to be destroyed. Kal only had one choice.
The jedi found Ashlyn on her bed, speaking nothing but nonsense as her mind was twisted and mangled into insanity.
Kal disappeared for many many years, travelling the galaxy and learning everything he could about the jedi and the sith, ultimately deciding that the only peace that the galaxy could ever achieve would be at the end of the light and dark.
