BIOGRAPHY:
A small woman entered the room. She fancied herself as a stylish person, so on any other day the light blue hue that cascaded itself into the circular chamber, complimented by the pearl floor and columns with marble ceilings would have struck a cord of beauty with her. This was no such moment, however. Any day someone is summoned to the Jedi council without warning is not a day for leisure, especially under circumstances like these.
It didn't take a Jedi to see the dear in the girl. She was only 25, and here she was surrounded by the most well trained and powerful people in the galaxy. her walk was uneasy, just as the pale greenish complexion that was forced upon her face. Her head stuck to the floor, fearing even a glimpse of eye contact from the high mounted desk that was positioned of the perimeter of the room. Every few feet, a man or woman clad in brown robes perched in the desks, looming down at her. All the eyes made her sick to her stomach. She stopped near the entrance to the council chamber, only for a loud voice to echo from the seat on the far end of the room.
"Enter to the middle of the room" The mans voice boomed. There was no compromise in his voice. No 'please' to be heard. He was not asking, he was commanding. As such, the woman did as he told, and nervously stepped into the center of the giant circle, 15 Jedi masters looming above like vultures. The Jedi that spoke the first time was a large man in his 40's, and he seemed to be leading whatever witch hunt this was about to become.
"From this moment forward you are presumed to be in league with a recent padawan 'Kal Brennet' and under these accusations we will be conducting a questionnaire. If you fail to answer these questions to satisfactory, we will presume that you are still under his teaching and will be imprisoned as such. Do I make myself clear, Mrs. Randall?" The Jedi commanded again. His voice boomed like a thermal detonator.
The small woman, Hayley Randall, knew what this was. It wasn't just a questionnaire, it was an interrogation. She did nothing but nod, afraid that she could drop dead from one misplaced word. She had never met the Jedi masters before, yet she had always read that they were the kindest and warmest souls in the whole galaxy. It was far from this experience, these masters felt cold and unforgiving. She didn't dare defy them.
"First off, tell us about Kal Brennet" The voice attacked once again.
"Umm... well.... He started last year about. I think he was 22 or 23. I oversaw his selection into our padawans..." She nervously replied. her voice was quiet like a Bantha in a Krayte dragons nest.
"Why did you allow a padawan at the age of 22?"
"He had an affinity for the force that was strong for someone untrained. He wished to understand it, such is the way of the jedi..." That last part was a plea more than anything. She didnt want the council to think she had any ties other than the jedi.
"What about before the temple? where did he come from? did you have any prior contact wit Brennet?" This question was more of an accusation than anything else. They both knew it.
"Of course not. He grew up on Coruscant to an upper class family. Went straight from there to the temple, that was the first I had met him. I swear it!" Hayley redacted. The Jedi masters face remained unchanged. He took a 15 second long pause and eyed the woman.
"If you had no prior relationship to the man, then why did you allow him to leave? with consent you let a fugitive leave the facility! Mrs. Randall I'd suggest if you're going to play stupid you don't act stupid as well. One more time! I want the truth! Why did you allow him to leave?!" The Jedi masters voice exploded around the chamber, each word another combustion, sparking more dear into the woman's heart.
"I didn't know he was a fugitive!" The woman cried out, a tear rolling down her now flush cheek. "When he spoke, he calmed ever bit of my dismay! He spoke reason to his actions, don't you see? I didn't know he'd killed anyone! let alone stolen sith artifacts from the vault..." The jedi had broken her. She was starting to unwravel and in time she would spill everything.
"I'd advise you choose your next words very carefully Mrs. Randall. If you speak anything but the truth you will be prosecuted." The Jedi spoke. He waited what felt like ages for his next words. "Where. is. Kall. Brennet." He could already see a look of fear in Hayley's eyes. She didn't even have to say anything, the flow of tears said enough. She didn't know. It didn't matter. They knew his intentions, and they were dangerous enough for some form of military action. Padawans leaving to join the sith was one thing the council had dealt with numberous times. But a padawan deeply intefrated into teachings of balance, so much so that he wishes the destruction fo both the jedi and the sith? This was new.
Kal Brennet was no sith, he was as dark as they come, and for the first time, the council seemed disolved. Perhaps it was fear? It was a conclusion nobody would admit. The woman was dismissed to be arrested at a later time and imprisoned for the rest of her life. Right now there were more pressing matters to attend to. The master pressed a button on his desk and spoke into his microphone. "From this point forward, Kal Brennet is to be considered hostile and to be sought out and found from whatever corner of the galaxy he has fled. I will see to it personally."
The master stood up and left the room without contest of any other masters. They knew the importance of this threat. Kal Brennet must be killed.
