From Tragic Upbringing to a Rising Star: N'ora sits down with Hutt Ball Player, Kal Gast
Interview By: N'ora Zandooma -- Voice Recording Provided below.
N'ora: *smiles and holds out her hand towards Kal, who was sitting across from her.* "Kal! Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with me and my team!"
Kal: *Smiles* "This week has been crazy, they always said draft day was a circus, but you don't really know what to expect until you're in it. But, I wouldn't change it for the world..To play in this beautiful world, and to make a difference for my team and my community." *His eyes narrow slightly, as he let's out a bit of a smirk.*
N'ora: "Your dedication to helping your community and to connect with the children on Lothal was one of the biggest outliers that stood out for many scouts that I talked to. I know that you had a deep connection to the people of Lothal and sought to serve as an icon and a role model for them to look up to. I assume your background...is part of the reason, is that true?"
Kal: *Nods and folds his hands across his lap* "Well..as you know Lothal wasn't exactly the most wealthy of planets. A lot of the children struggled with the basics and I just wanted them to have something to look up to..to know that they could manage even the worst circumstances.
N'ora: "Well Mr. Gast, you have had your fair share of...bad circumstances, could you please go into detail..I understand it has to be difficult, but the viewers...they would die to hear about this!" *Smiles as she tilts her head*
Kal: *His eyes flicker down towards the ground for a moment, his composure and posture giving away his discomfort, as he thinks back to that fateful night.* "My father and I were traveling across the plains of Lothal, we were farmers back then...barely getting by, but attempting to take care of my sick mother..Times were rough then, food was scarce and many were hungry. We..were attacked by a group of bandits that had been positioned on the road." *Pauses as he let's out a sigh* "My father didn't agree with their demands...and well..he's not here to see me now."
N'ora: "Wow..this is..this...is powerful theatrics, I know our viewers on the holo-net will love this..This was exactly what I needed."
Kal: "But, I made a promise from that day forward to make the galaxy a better place, to use my talents, skills, and credits to build a better galaxy. I hope that one day I can help the disenfranchised children of the galaxy, I'm not sure how..but I will."
N'ora: "Thank you...please enjoy your time on Nar Shaddaa and please if you feel like sharing your story with us again, let me know.."
