STRENGTHS
- Bruiser: The Kanasaza Class Heavy Cruiser is built to serve as a frontline warship, with heavy weaponry and strong multi-layered shielding, and layered armored hull. With multiple banks of targeting computers, it is also able to engage multiple enemy vessels at a time with varying levels of concentrated fire.
- C&C: The Kanasaza Class is equipped to serve as a forward command and control center for larger fleet formations, or serve as a planetary invasion vessel alongside other ships of the Class.
- Turning: The Kanasaza Class has minimal secondary thrusters across its hull, focusing primarily on straight line approaches to destinations or enemies. It is unable to make quick tactical turns in the heat of combat, and must rely on its defense turrets to protect its flanks.
- Range: The Kanasaza Class lacks any missile based weaponry, severely limiting the overall effective range of its offensive capabilities. Added on to the Classes lack of starfighter support, it is forced to wither long range enemy weaponry and strike craft assault before it can engage its opponent.
The Kanasaza Class Heavy Cruiser takes heavy design inspiration from the Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser from the Old Republic era. The Kanasaza Class has been built to be larger and more heavily armed and armored than its ancestor vessel, and ideally suited to serve in modern era fleet engagements. While focused primarily as a combat vessel, the Kanasaza Class can fill the role of a command and control vessel, with its extended and upgraded communication systems, as well as serve as a limited planetary assault ship. With an above side hangar, the Kanasaza is capable of deploying troop transports directly towards a planets surface, while taking the brunt of any planetary weapons fire.
