Kandosii-type reverse engineering

The light of a thousand stars shone in the glorious backdrop of the infinite black as Ordo sat aboard the MandalTech Shipyard. His tired grey eyes blinked as he looked at the same scar covered face that he had looked at a thousand times. His brown hair cut high and tight as always. A new scar at the back of his neck where his armor had not covered itched as he looked at the construction just outside the view port.

“How’s progress?” He asked as he sat in the chair that he could no longer move without.

“We have the hull stripped down and the battles scoring ground out. The techs are moving in now.” Aran said.

“Did you contact Motors and Hypernautics?” Ordo asked.

“Not yet. The techs said to wait until they tried the systems.” Aran replied to his Buir.

“Well make sure you see to it before long.” Ordo said his eyes holding back emotion as he thought of all the wrong he had done to the vode, “I’ve taken so much. I need to give something back; maybe they’ll take this as a start.”

Not Ordo

Just under the upper hand.
Aran took the controls of the hover-chair that his wounded father was now bound to and began pushing him toward the construction area.

“Where are we going?” Ordo asked as his thumb twitched and he tried to get the rest of his hand to join.

“The construction area,” Aran replied as he looked down at the buy’ce that sat in his buir’s lap and wondered how many places had seen that faceplate and shuddered. “When was it that you ever just sat and not gotten your hands dirty?”

“My hands don’t do much of anything anymore Son.” Ordo said with that tone of reflection that he had so often these days.

Aran put his hand to the side of his helmet as he listened to the report from the techs.

“There’s more than one way to get involved Buir’ika.” Aran replied, “Techs are going to the reactor. So far the systems are responsive. Where did you find this thing anyway?”

“I stole it.” Ordo said honestly, “It was being used to hide fighters that were being smuggled to the Sith.”

“How did you steal it?” Aran asked amazed at his father’s frankness.

“I used the VR system to access the holonet and alert the local authorities my ship had been stolen and the location.” Ordo said suppressing a grin, “They delivered it to the shipyard themselves.”

“You’re a scoundrel, you know that.” Aran replied.

“I was born a Corellian son.” He joked, “It’s in the blood.”

They arrived within a few minutes at the site of the construction and slowly Ordo opened and closed his hand. It was progress not a ton of progress but progress just the same. He looked at the damaged systems as the workers carried old weapons system components into the engineering bay. The systems were shot and most of the ordinance was either missing of ruined. Ordo took it in and longed for his old blue coveralls and the feeling of his tools in his hands. Several of the M1 astromechs were scanning systems and recreating schematics from the components for use in the reproduction process.

The droids he had purchased from Cestus Cybernetics were paying off more than he had even hoped as they worked along with the MandalTech workers.

“Aran, can you get me to the engineering terminal so I can follow the progress?”

“Of course Buir.” He said in his Concordian accent.

“Vor’e ad’ika.” Ordo replied.

He looked at the holoprojector readout as he was set in front of the station while the lead engineer he had hired from black sun for the work, studied the read outs.

“How is it coming, Mr. Porkins?” Ordo asked.

Freynk had just finished a bolo ball game outside of Keldabe when he got a call from the Mandalorian cripple and owner of MandalTech. He wore simple black coveralls and engineer’s boots that looked like they had seen their share of use. The Mando and his son approached and Freynk looked away from the holoprojector long enough to offer a nod of acknowledgement before he changed images.

“It’s going well Mistah Ordo.” The short man said as he moved his hand up to trace the lines of the reactor internal images that were being streamed from inside the ship. “The reactor is operable but it is so rundown one hyperjump and it could die or worse. This thing looks like it hasn’t seen maintenance in years. We can use the reactors you made for the medical frigate y’all have. It’s about the same size, and the shield generators that you showed me will take up less space with the same output at the ones this has.”

Oya, Mr. Perkins.” Ordo said “that is music to my ears.”

Ordo looked at the schematics and nodded in agreement, as he looked over what the man had pointed out. The whole of the reactor was holding but if even a weapon fired he was concerned it would leak.

“Make sure the techs test the weapons bye using testers on the circuitry and not by activating the weapons.” Ordo began as he pointed with a finger toward the schematics for the weapons that had been drawn up. “We don’t want any risk to be taken on this.”

“I am on top of it boss man.” Freynk replied with a nod, “I’m not ready to be dust anymore than anyone else is.”

Freynk looked as the hyperdrive was carried out of the ship. The old thing was so beat up and worn he wouldn’t have had to worry about a hyperjump being done with that thing. He watched as the Cestus lifters set the thing down and returned to the inside of the ship. A team of workers and astromechs headed for the hyperdrive and began taking it apart and scanning every coupling and piece one by one.

“At this rate with the way your people work we should be done within a few days.” Freynk said, “Did you divert everyone to this project or something.”

Not Ordo

Just under the upper hand.
Aran watched as they talked about whatever it was the two nerds were saying. He understood test weapons and that was about it. He looked around, saw the caff machine and some food set out for the workers, decided he would excuse himself, and get some caff for Ordo and some food for himself.

Meanwhile, the engineers were stripping the hyperdrive while the droids began carrying out the nav computer and other various systems that would need updates and new repairs. Aran decided now would be a safe time to contact Hypernautics and Motors that they had begun work on the project.

He opened up his datapad screen and typed out a message to Motors first.

“[member="Azrael"] and MandalMotors inc.

Suy cu’gar, ner vode. This is Aran Ordo acting CEO of MandalTech. We have recovered an old Kandosii-type Dreadnaught and are in the process of cataloging the systems and creating new schematics with modernized systems. These schematics will be made available to you as soon as we are finished and you will be given joint rights to the production of the new Kandosii. We at MandalTech are excited to see this Iconic ship back in production and look forward to future dealings between companies.

Ordo with Mr. Porkins at the controls was driven over to the weapons systems and watched as they were stripped and scanned. He watched as the techs removed the parts and marked each one then had them all scanned into the MTI supercomputer that had been brought in to keep track of the schematics. Ordo was not surprised they all worked so hard. This was the Kandosii, an iconic ship of Mandalorian history, and connected them all to their roots while reminding them of who they were and where they came from. What could be a greater honor than being a part of a project of this kind?

“What do you think of the weapons systems can we duplicate the punch this ship used to have?” Ordo asked the engineer turned businessman.

“Shoot, you know better than me haus.” Freynk said lifting his chin toward the ordinance that was being pulled out of the ship. “Those are heavy concussion missles and the ship computer had nukes on the manifest for what the missile tubes could fire. If ya ask me this thing could be reequipped with the same kit and be just as tough as it ever was.”

He pointed at another mound of parts that lay off to the side of the concussion missiles that had been stacked off to the side.

“And those are the components to the tube firing mechanism. If that was updated with the same tech y’all used for the Ordo-class and the big destroyers it would be even more accurate than the one this had previously.” Freynk paused, “Y’all could cut the hanger down and add probably 30 more guns to this monster if ya wanted.”

“No, I can’t do that.” Ordo said looking at the man. “This is a symbol of whom the Mandalorians are and where they came from. These ships were used to bring the galaxy to its knees. The fighters would have swept out in clouds and rained fire the war droids would have screamed for the planets or fleets they faced. It’s not just a chance for a powerful warship. This is a part of who we are.”

The man nodded and pursed his lips as he looked at it.

“Well You always have the option of making variants if you want.” The engineer said.

“That we do.” Ordo replied. “Speaking of which I should contact someone who may be interested in that very thing.”

Ordo spoke and his data pad self-activated.

“Message to [member="Captain Larraq"].” Ordo said. “Captain Larraq this is MandalTech Reaserch and development. We have come across an intact Kandosii-type dreadnaught and are in the process of creating modern schematics. As soon as they are finished the schematics will be made available to all Mandalorian companies.” Ordos toped speaking and told the ‘pad to send and the message was off. is is Aran Ordo acting CEO of mmandalTech5 ____________________________________________________________________________________message to Motors first and typed out a message to Motors first s that they had begun work on the project. d get some ca
