DESCRIPTION:
At nearly six feet tall, with his broad build and musculature, Kanet cuts an imposing figure. He sports a thick beard, but his scalp is bald. He wears a tan tunic and well-worn black pants, with belt and boots to match. In hostile environments, he wears leather gloves, a green hooded cloak, a face mask, and powered goggles.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ Force Sensitivity: Kanet's sensitivity to the Force gives him a heightened sense of danger, faster reaction times, and strong empathic abilities.
+ Zeison Sha Training: While growing up among the Zeison Sha, Kanet was trained in telekinesis, by which he is able to manipulate objects with approximately the skill level of a Jedi Knight.
+ Inquisitive & Dedicated: Kanet is naturally curious, and he wants to learn as much as he can about as much as he can. He is not easily deterred in the pursuit of truth and knowledge.
+ Ascetic: By practice, Kanet is accustomed to suffering and pain; he has a very high pain tolerance and can more easily go long periods without food or drink.
+ Jack of All Trades: By practice and training, Kanet is an able-bodied pilot, mechanic, swordsman, marksman, and survivalist.
- Renaissance Man: By spreading his practice so broadly, he does not excel at any one thing compared to his peers.
- Specificity of Training: Because of the focus of the Zeison Sha, Kanet does not have any trained Force abilities besides his telekinesis.
- Isolation: Since leaving the Zeison Sha, Kanet has traveled alone, and indeed he prefers it that way; as a result, he does not work well in groups and tends to clash with others, especially when asked to compromise.
- Bloodlust: When in battle, Kanet has great difficulty disengaging from the enemy; he also has difficulty allowing wounded or surrendering enemies to live.
- Poverty: Kanet has no money to speak of. He will work hard to repay for transportation, lodging, or food, but credits are out of the question.
- Obsessed: The other side of the coin when it comes to his dedication to the truth: Kanet will not often let a question go, even if the pursuit of its answer may cause him harm.

Kanet Gannegar was born in approximately 804 ABY, although the exact date is a mystery. He was orphaned at a young age, when his parents' vessel, a decrepit JumpMaster 5000 called the Pilgrim, crash-landed on Yanibar. It was winter at the time. Gannegar's parents were killed on impact, but Kanet was left trapped in the ice and snow for days before a Zeison Sha mystic discovered the wreck and rescued the boy. The mystic later explained that he found Kanet because he was shining like a beacon in the Force.
Kanet, whose name was discovered among various articles in the wreckage, was placed with a couple who could have no children. They raised him as their own. Over time, through contact with traders and study of the remains of his biological parents' ship, Kanet learned that he was descended from two different worlds: Salissia and Haruun Kal. His Korunnai blood accounted for his dark complexion and strong independence, and his Salissian heritage explained his propensity to violence.
During his childhood, and into his youth, Kanet struggled with controlling those violent tendencies. Some of the Zeison Sha praised his combative spirit, others condemned his rashness, but none of them saw the internal turmoil that he bottled up inside. The more he seethed, against arrogant instructors and bullies and the imaginary enemies that plagued his mind, the closer his bloodlust came to bursting forth.
In many ways, he seemed made for the Zeison Sha. He was trained by his adoptive parents to survive the harsh climates of Yanibar, and to control the world around him with telekinesis. He became proficient at manipulating the discblade. His natural abilities helped him to excel in these areas early on.
Tragedy struck shortly after Kanet turned twenty. A rival in training struck him in anger, and Kanet responded in kind. Kanet, the better combatant, quickly won the fight, but, unable to control his desire to kill, he murdered the other boy.
After that, Kanet bartered passage off Yanibar; he wanted to help others, just as the Zeison Sha did, but he saw no way he could do that if he might hurt those he cared about most. He took vows of poverty and asceticism, swearing not to possess anything he did not absolutely need, and to consume just enough for survival, relying instead on the Force for sustenance.
Inspired by the greatness of the Sha Kalan temple, he decided to seek out other temples, relics, and holy sites spread throughout the galaxy, documenting them in the pursuit of Truth. He also began to seek out information on his own ancestors, the Korunnai and the Salissians, in an effort to better understand and control himself.
Such has been his daily task for more than ten years. He offers work for transportation between worlds, staying with a crew only for a short time. He avoids personal relationships, but constantly strives to help others.
