- Accessibility: The hardest of the Academies to get to, the narrow pathways through the mountains and stairways make it much harder to get to from the ground. From the air there are defenses set up against fighters and airships and barricades can be erected quickly enough... The district guards who protect the gates keep out most who are not part of the academy or don't have something official showing their business.
- Description: Partially formed into the mountains and much larger then the others. Where the north academy built itself up the West spread outwards to overtake the mountains and pathways being able to go up into the mountains and have one of the most fortified Academies in the Kansai province. With the structures largely a single building that has been added onto with internal shops and classrooms. The people of the district use the massive mountains to their advantage and have the high ground in most situations. To getting train in the thinner air, to connect with some of the rivers and streams in the mountains or the roadways that had been made to connect to different villages and towns.
The Hellish gates: Designed as the primary entrance to the academy and set into the mountains. The gates are massive and made for archers or turrets to be set up and have the superior firepower as it fires into a narrow pass.
Stockade: A hot box where prisoners of battles (academy commanders) are brought if they are defeated for a day to mostly stew in their defeat. SMall cells with water and some food overseen by the student council.

Located in the mountains and designed to be both protected by their environment as well as provide defenses such as turrets and barricades to funnel attackers. The academy itself houses the Western wolves what is considered one fo the most elite military academy forces as they have not been defeated in nearly a decade of battles.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The prestigious western academy, built into the mountains and on the edge of the district for the academies originally as a stronghold that could oversee and be used for rebellion. The Onyx empress had long range weapons on the mountains where she could beseige the city should it rise up against her. The buildings were made part of the mountains, gardens and open areas to train the soldiers. Once she was done and the other academies in the districts were made... then her plan brought forward it served to produce her strongest Onyx Yovshin. She left the academies to their works and would receive only the strongest yearly who survived.
The academy itself continued long after her death to produce what were considered some of the finest swordsmen in the Commonwealth that would fight and die for them. They went into military service more often, were loyal and brought glory and prestige to the academy until they started to fall on harder times. Mostly when a plague spread across the planet and the galaxy as was learned that was much harder to fight. The remnants of the Academy banded together with the others and they were working to try and help who they could and restore order under the emperor. Slowly Atrisia managed to pull itself out of the dark ages and would serve under Akio.
With the new emperor and his plan for them to become the Atrisian Empire again... the academy sent its best and brightest to the front lines to serve with dignity and honor. They were able to regain much of their reputation and as civil wars and battles came to the world the best became divided but were brought to heel and under the control of the new headmaster who was loyal to the emperor... the true emperor and saw the radicals cast out with the others. When the eastern academy started to progress wit the new reforms and restoration efforts the Western academy thrived. The empress eventually coming and seeing them as she seemed impressed and allowed them to reconstruct and work on what their future would be like restricting and controlling admissions to only have the strongest fighters.
