Kao Arael is a troubled man, with past enemies which he has no recollection of making coming back to haunt him every now and then. Scars cover his body from battles not long ago, but some seem like the scars of torture. His memory is currently very weak, and its almost at the point where one can call him an amnesiac. What he knows is coming back to him, but not in the order which he would like. ex: He remembered how to pull fire out of the air before he could remember his own name. He has come to understand that he was, and still is a Force Sensitive, but he remembers nothing of his training, or as to how much more powerful he has become. Whatever had caused him to become an amnesiac was still out there, and fragments of the truth haunt his thoughts both when he is asleep and awake.
Kao Arael is the center of his own Force Vergence, created through an unholy ritual of which he has no recollection of being a part of. His midi-chlorians were mutated into a more immortal variant called Maxi-chlorians, while a mental block of incredible strength was placed in his mind to suppress his previous thoughts and to enable "reprograming". What slivers of power come through this barrier he labels as his "Other". He is a conduit of their dark power, and is an ever-present representation that the Sith's goal of true immortality can be achieved. His mutated body shows this stress, benefiting his imposing demeanor and his Force Potential as his entire body had become a conduit for the Dark Side. His mutation is such that his midi-chlorians were all infected with a retro-virus which turned them into Maxi-chlorians in an effort to further experiment with Sith Alchemy and towards the ever-present goal of immortality. Thus his Maxi-chlorians force him to act and react differently than he would have if he were still influenced by his midi-chlorians. They do not however guarantee him immortality, and have instead completely mutated his brain and body to further power the Dark Side inside of him.
His hatred comes from his not knowing what he was, what he is, and how he got to having most of his memories and potential power locked away from him. He will experiment with Alchemy, Magic, Runes, and Warfare in an attempt to reconstruct himself as the true power he wants to be.
