Intent: To provide a permanent base of operations, location from which raids outside the SJO are launched and a home for the Siel Manta forces and non Sith supporting Mirialans, giving them the added security of being within the protective space of the SJO who support their cause.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Planet Name: Kara-Shehr
Demonym: Kara-Shehran
Region: Mid rim
System Name: Acheral
System Features: Kara-Shehr orbits one sun and is enveloped by a series of asteroid belts, making it somewhat treacherous for fleets and ships not familiar with navigating it.
Coordinates: AD,29
Major Imports: In part to the relatively nature barren of the planet, the former miner occupants frequently imported food and utilitarian supplies from outside. Although some areas of the planet have been proven to be suitable for farming.
Major Exports: Durelium ore deposits, Hfredium deposits, scrap metal.
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
Gravity: Standard
Climate: Arid for the most part although for half of the year the continent is subjected to intense monsoons that rage across the planet, causing flooding in low level regions and valleys.
Primary Terrain: Mountains, lowlands and mesas.
Atmosphere: Type 1
Major Locations:
Karsk Mountains
https://www.deviantart.com/matty17art/art/high-mountains-399351814
Info:
A major mountain range located in the northern continent of the planet, it is home to immense Durelium deposits situated deep beneath the monolithic mountains that encompass the 2,100 km long range. The range bore its name from the first person to discover the place, a Nautolan scientist by the name of Effri Karsk who first arrived on the planet in 230ABY on a geological survey mission. Much later on around the time of 323ABY-324ABY, various refineries were set up by budding mining companies looking to expand their businesses in search of fresh deposits to fuel the increasing demand for Durelium. With the most famous of the refineries being the Bortenfor ore refinery.

Info:
Located on the western half of the Karsk mountain ranges, nestled on a plateau cradled between several large peaks, it is the largest and most expansive of the several facilities established to mine Durelium from the roots of the mountains. Its imposing size dominates the area in which it is located, with it easily being seen from the air, a black tumour hugging the range it sits on. The refinery possesses four hangars that were formerly used for utility ships and transport ships to dock in when taking Durelium off planet or when delivering supplies to the skeleton crew that operated the facilities, currently it has been repurposed as a docking area for Siel Manta fighter craft and minor star ships.
Most of the facility is home to vast smelting rooms and areas dedicated to mining production, only 20% of the facility consists of a proper living area and non production facilities. As such only a small skeleton crew was maintained to keep the facility going in its hey day. As of 854ABYY the facility has been repurposed into a military command base for Siel Manta operations, with its formidable size and relative inaccessibility making it a rather hard place to besiege in the event of a planetary attack. The Mirialan rebel group maintains a permanent skeleton garrison of four thousand soldiers throughout the year, with the site also functioning as a fuel depot for returning flight patrols.
Ashara city

Info:
Ashara is the main city on Kara-Shehr, with architecture influenced by the inhabitants home planet of Mirial. Many Mirialans live in Ashara because of the city's proximity to the temperate mesas of the planet. Situated on the border of the wild mesa and on the west end of the trail that runs towards the Karsk mountains in the north. It is in an area known as the Baranai basin, which extends to the Karsk mountains in the north and to the tributaries of the Mardri River, that snakes through half of the continent. Ashara is built around a tributary of the Mardri River, which is due south of the city.
POPULATION
Native Species: Some local wildlife.
Immigrated Species: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mirialan
Population: Sparsely populated, estimated at seventy thousand people, three quarters of whom are located in Ashara city with the rest either located in the farms dotted around the mesas or serving at a Siel Manta military base.
Demographics:
96% Mirialan
4% other
Primary Languages: Mirialan, galactic basic.
Culture: The culture is generally Mirialan, with most immigrants having brought over respective customs and practices with them.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
Government: Military junta
Affiliation: Siel manta and the SJO:
http://starwarsrp.net/groups/239-the-order-of-the-silver-jedi/
http://starwarsrp.net/groups/1155-siel-manta/
Wealth: Medium currently, although if the mining operations in the Karsk mountains are renewed once more, the planet would see high wealth pouring in once more if they attract interest.
Stability: Stability in the planet is quite high given how the Siel Manta keep a tight lid on affairs and other issues, with most settlers given a grant to get settled on the planet.
Freedom & Oppression: The average citizen has relative freedom to do as they please, with the style of government contrasting the council that once ruled their home planet. Affairs are ran by a committee of former Mirialan military soldiers, who decide the matters and affairs that go on in the city.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
Military: The planets abandoned refineries, vast mountain ranges and asteroid belt act as natural defences against outside threats. Coupled with the Siel Mantas use of turning the old refineries into impenetrable military installations means it is a formidable place to take for anyone not familiar with the planet. The Siel Mantas origin as a rebel group of breakaway Mirialan militia soldiers gives them a powerful but limited fleet and well equipped force from which they can defend the planet with.
Technology: Prior to being resettled by outsiders the planet was a relic of a far older time, with the tech left behind being a symbol of that bygone era when the refineries smelters still ran hot and there was activity in the mountains. The Siel Manta and elements of diaspora have brought their own tech with them, but it'll take at least ten years until the refineries are upgraded to current tech.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Kara-Shehr was first discovered by geologists from the university of Coruscant in the year 230ABY, who chanced upon the place by discovery while returning from a data collecting survey in Toydaria.
The planets relatively isolated nature meant that there was no significant colonisation attempts for the best part of a hundred years, until corporate interests took hold when the news broke out that there was huge deposits of Durelium to be found under the planet's surface.
It is know that the Outer Rim Oreworks Company at one point maintained dozens of refineries across the planet but in 404ABY had reduced operations to just the Bortenfor Refinery. The Bortenfor refinery maintained an active status prior to the four hundred year darkness. The compound is almost ten square miles in diameter, with around six hundred active and inactive ventilation ducts. Initially having a worker population of over four thousand miners and security staff, by 427ABYY the population of Bortenfor was reduced to a skeleton crew of fifty two miners.
No one really knows what became of the skeleton crew, but some point to the unfolding chaos and galaxy wide instability for the real reason why the planet was completely abandoned.
By the time of 854ABYY almost four hundred years later, the planet came to be colonised by the Siel Manta, a rebel Mirialan faction that sought a different future away from the malign influence of the Sith. Serving as a proper base of operations from which they could launch raids into Sith space and also help their SJO allies. Massive immigration from sympathetic elements of the Mirialan diaspora soon followed, with a city by the name of Ashara being founded not long after the organisation first set foot on the planet.
