It proved to be a taxing process to modernize the equipment carried by Remnant Forces. Much of it utilized the old, inferior arsenal that was utilized during the war. While effective during it's time, technology continued to develop, and their foes advanced gradually leaving them behind. Through their various conquests especially the crippling blow dealt to the Sith Empire, an innumerable number of technological innovations flowed as Bryn'adul forces plundered every world they burned. Much of this came into the possession of Rakvul the Darkener, now High Warlord of the Bryn'adul Remnant. Through such technology alongside his engineers, he was able to reverse engineer much of it. This led to a series of highly successful projects that dramatically improved the fighting capabilities of his forces.

The Juggernaut Corps were no exception.

Just as the Zealot Order had, they were an instrumental part in nearly all of the battles fought by the Bryn'adul. They were brutally effective troops, a tide of destruction unleashed upon their enemies. In order to remain as effective as they were when the war began, to remain as the forces that brought the galaxy to heel, they needed something new. After the success of the Blight-Pattern Special Operations Armor, Rakvul took the lessons learned from that project and began to pour them into something new. To begin he decided on a heavier suit of armor this time. Plate of Malabast were carefully hammered together, designed overtop a separate armored layer of Verikast. When these two were put together it created a very heavy, but extremely durable protective barrier.

Once this was complete, he began the process of equipping the suit with a variety of useful pieces of technology that he felt would augment the capabilities of any Drael, while ensuring they didn't fall to the weakness of such advanced technology and retaining a balance. The entire suit was woven through with living Drael biotechnology. This connected everything within the suit to the wearer, giving them a degree of control through a neural link that other troops couldn't compete with. When it was put through a series of tests it passed each with flying colors, proving that each wearer possessed an enormous level of durability under intense fire, perfect for the Juggernaut Corps and proving far greater than its predecessor.

After watching a final demonstration of the armor in action, Rakvul approved it for mass use by the Juggernaut Corps. The armor was named the Kardun-Pattern Heavy Battle Armor after the home of the reborn Draelvasier species. It was where the precursor Drael went catatonic, where Tathra Khaeus revived the species from complete extinction and brought forth a new era of prosperity and dominance. Once he joined forces with the returned Chieftain, Rakvul shared the armor with all Drael within the Bryn'adul-Xaelesh Protectorate.
