- Fast and Maneuverable: The Celestia's engines have been hyper-tuned for maximum performance, making this vessel extremely fast. Additionally, the inclusion of the FAE Multiphase Tensor Field Element allows this vessel to be extremely maneuverable even in the atmosphere.
- Good Defense: The Celestia has an impressive array of defensive technology at its disposal, giving it an edge in the unlikely event that it has to fight. This includes HPI's Seigurium Light and X armor plating, "Skjöldr" Energy Shield, N&Z's SIXTUS/B shield, and FAE's ECM and countermeasure arrays. Additionally, Karl has managed to procure a molecular shield, increasing Celestia's overall energy weapon resistance.
- Stealthy: Equipped with an Ósýnilegt-class Cloaking Device, Ethaerium X fuel, and Ersteel 12231 frame the Celestia is hard to detect in numerous ways. From sight, tracking, or heat signature, when Karl doesn't want to be found or seen, he can do so. However, using the cloaking device renders the vessel shieldless for the duration.
- Limited Offensive/Defensive Weaponry: The Celestia is only equipped with twelve barrels of weaponry. Two of them are missile tubes, one placed directly under the nose of the vessel and one at its rear, each tube only has three missiles. The next four are four forward-facing maser cannons, which will more than likely not be used as the crew is instructed to run at the first sight of trouble. The last six barrels are the pop-up triple-barreled ion cannons mounted on the dorsal and ventral sides of the ship.
- EMP/ION: Celestia has many systems that are a boon to its crew and passengers, but like many technologically advanced ships, too much EMP/Ion damage can effectively turn all of that into a pile of half-working garbage.
- Maintenance: Also, because of its extensive upgrades, maintenance takes forever. If something were to completely break down, the ship would either have to continue to operate without that system as it gets fixed or, depending on the part, might have to sit in a hangar for a week or two.
Karl bought a pair of Courier-Class Yachts as birthday gifts for himself and his twin sister on their twentieth birthday. His main reasoning was that they needed something that could be a private space, although the real reason he bought them was that they were known for being fast and upgradeable. Over time he would add the cannons and upgrade the shields, modify certain systems, and completely swap out others.
Karl's ship was always in a state of being in disrepair, but fully functional. He continued to upgrade it during his privateering days, and almost lost it playing Sabacc a couple of times. He always came out on top in those moments though. As he grew older the ship became less and less in a state of disrepair, until he had thought it complete. He thought it was finally done, the perfect personal yacht.
Then he joined the EOTL and realized that he was not done with it, he was close, but not at the finish line yet. When he was brought on to the N&Z Board of Directors, he had access to the entire catalog of N&Z products and his yacht fell into the state of being upgraded again. As he got more and more contracts, the ship's upgrades grew vaster and more technological, until it finally became the ship that Karl had originally dreamed it would be. Classy, protective, fast, and his home away from home.
With its upgrades, it was fast and could make Karl disappear if he wanted. It gave him exactly what he needed: a safe space in an infinitely dangerous galaxy.
