BIOGRAPHY:
Kasmion Duum was a boy when the Bryn'adul put his homeworld to the torch. He relived his family's desperate escape every night as a refugee on the streets of Jedha. When pilgrims told him he was sensitive to the Force, he realized that his dreams were not just his but his family's: unconsciously, he had been both drowning in their memories of the xenocide of Kesh, and piling his own upon them. In everyone's best interest, he left. They died in one of the Maw attacks on Jedha not long after, and Kasmion was once again alone.
He'd needed to be strong before. He determined he would never be anything less.
While working maintenance across the Outer Rim, Kasmion studied and made connections. He worked for Skajin var Imret's partisans in the Scar Worlds for a time, hunting stray Draelvasier and learning the telepathy of the Shamers, of Kooroo, and of the ancient Hutt Cartel mind-slicers. But he and var Imret proved to be far too much alike in dangerous ways, and Kasmion tended to think with more ambition than his teacher.
They parted as uneasy friends; the old Sava's recommendation got Kasmion into New Habat University on Varunda IX. Kasmion secured scholarship funding and studied environmental reclamation. He developed into a poet of some note, using historical Keshiri forms. Preserving fragments of the nearly-eradicated peoples of the Scar Worlds became one of his driving passions.
He found independent financial stability through various arrangements - starting with the suicide of an admiral who'd refused to come to Kesh's aid years before. With this stability, Kasmion began a lifelong pattern of providing remittances and patronage to Keshiri remnant communities and other Scar Worlds survivors.
SHIP: As of 900 ABY, Kasmion's most serious vessel was a fifty-year-old MC42 Ruisto-class expeditionary frigate named the Nightshift.
