- The artifact is a boundless nexus of dark side energy harvested from the heart and slain population of a planet. It enhances dark side abilities empowering them by increasing their effectiveness. In addition it makes dark side abilities easier to use and less taxing on the individual wearing the necklace.
- The crystal naturally enhances the abilities of battle precognition and force sense.
- The core of the dark crystal is a combined Phobis Device that is a literal nexus of power with a defined radius. When someone enters the outskirts of its aura at approximately fifteen meters, it will produce a sense of uneasiness and discomfort. These manifest in everything from chills, shivers, hair standing on end. Each step closer will magnify this fear until at ten meters fear will assault the mind in the form of a medium grade force fear. Beyond this distance true terror is experienced in the form of a high grade force fear.
- The individual wearing the amulet with an understanding of it is immune to its effects. They have an ability to tap into this nexus of darkness and feast off the fear it produces in others to increase their own reserves. In addition they have an ability to turn its effects on and off.
- Dark Side Wellspring: The amulet is a nexus of dark side energy that directly enhances the dark side abilities of the user, giving the user a wellspring of energy to tap into. It additionally makes powers of the dark nature easier to use and less taxing on the wearer.
- Enhanced Awareness: The amulet possesses an innate ability to enhance battle precognition as well as the force sense of the wearer.
- Fear Unleashed: The artifact acts as a fully functioning phobis device giving the wearer dominion over fear in an aura around the wearer that goes from discomfort at fifteen meters, to a medium tier force fier at ten meters,. There is a high grade force fear as one comes closer than that.
Weaknesses:
- Innate Resistance: The power of fear can be resisted and outright negated in a variety of ways. The first is through a species innate resistances such as the Epicanthix, Hutts, Dashade, M etc. The artifact can be completely nullified under the effects of the Ysalamir and its potency reduced in the aura of voidstone. In addition it cannot impact those like the Yuuzhan Vong who are force dead.
- Aversion to Force Light: A byproduct of the Dark Side of the Force used in its creation, it is highly vulnerable to concentrated attacks from those who are proficient in the ability of Force Light. In addition when destroyed the amulet will detonate with disastrous results for the wearer as the energy is released.
- No Hiding: While the amulet is powerful due to its nature it is impossible to hide or conceal its true power. When wearing it the user cannot conceal his own presence in the force, as the amulet is a beacon of darkness.
- Indiscriminate Fear: While the effects of the fear are active its power does not distinguish friend from foe, everyone around the wearer will suffer its effects.
DESCRIPTION
In the very beginning this twisted creation found its origins back many years ago during his days as a Sith Knight. It was right after the fateful day on Lujo that saw [member="Darth Carnifex"] returned to the known world his spirit given physical form. Darth Prazutis relinquished his inherited rule of their home and kept his eyes ever watchful for potential allies, potential opportunities to take advantage of. This brought him to Atrisia where he came to the home of its monarch King Animus Malgus, known in the Sith Order as Lord [member="Mythos"].
As the representative of the Pacanth Reach they met and had a very productive meeting while testing each others mettle through a competition between champions. The best of the elite Jar'Kai met with a monstrous beast, an Imperial Sentinel handpicked by the Deceiver. The battle was long and hard with the Jar'Kai putting up an incredible fight but his opponent was a painless, tireless horror that eventually cut him down and devoured the man.
Zambrano and Lord Mythos had a very impressive meeting that culminated into an alliance between them and their houses. But even more it brought gifts from the Sith Lord due to the fight and the victory of Darth Prazutis's champion. A great cache of phrik and the addition of a powerful force crystal called Valthris. For many years the powerful dark crystal hung around the Dark Titan's neck accompanying him into battle after battle, war after war enhancing his own capabilities. It became an item he rarely took off as he climbed to the highest echelons of power in the Sith.
It was during the days of the New Sith Empire as the Shadow Hand that his mind once again dwelled on Valthris. After they had achieved the impossible on Asation and a ritual bound a Lotek'k from the Void to him, his mind returned to the crystal. It was no longer enough for the Lord of Lies who constantly pushed the boundaries of what was possible. So he went to work until he was able to uncover the hidden secrets of the legendary Phobis Devices of the infamous Dread Masters. That knowledge was taken out into deep space alongside Valthris where it underwent a grand ritual. One that claimed the lift of an entire planets population as a sacrifice to create something new, to break down the power of fear in the Phobis Devices and the destruction bound within Valthris to create a new horror.
The resulting creation was bound into an alchemized metal amulet its name a combination of both Sith and Epicanthix languages Kata ah dui Vaek, Heart of the Void.
