Named after the world it is found on and formed from the shifting sediments under the mountains and rock of Ra’Katha, Kathite is one of the ores and metals unique to the desert planet. Kathite, like most metals found on Ra’Katha, can be found in multiple deposits that are rich with ore, and it is estimated that over the centuries Kathite has been mined, at the most ten percent of Ra’Katha’s total Kathite reserves have been depleted.
Refined Kathite is a very strong metal, able to offer ample protection from nearly all energy types and the elements. The latter is especially useful in creating technology used Ra’Katha, where planetary temperatures can cause normal metals and alloys to overheat, which in turn adversely affects the electronics they are built out of.
Ultimately, the orange-gold metal is an extremely resilient metal, and as Ra’Katha begins to industrialize once more, is sure to be a vital material for construction and trade to come.
