STRENGTHS
- When using standard engines, a Kathol archeorigger is quick and very nimble. When it deploys its Gree exotic-matter solar sail to augment its engines, it sacrifices maneuverability for extreme speed.
- An archeorigger is a tough little ship with high defense.
- Extremely weird interior is difficult to board.
- Kathol archeoriggers have no space for support craft, though they can dock with individual ships.
- Kathol archeoriggers are low on weapons, far better at running and enduring than at shooting their way out of any given situation.
- Replacement parts and qualified technicians simply do not exist. Damage is something to take very seriously in the short and long term alike.
- Extremely weird interior and controls are difficult to get used to. This includes the washrooms.
A handful of these vessels were secured from the so-called Jagged Crown, the halo of ancient trophy spaceships orbiting Mugg Fallow. Once Mnggal-Mnggal was purged from the ships (and rediscovered the hard way, and purged again), and after installing Gree solar sails to augment propulsion systems, the refitted 'archeoriggers' re-entered service. Their nimbleness and speed made them useful courier ships for Forerunner agents who didn't need to keep a low profile.
