PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Kav is currently in the midst of a growth spurt. Lanky and unorthodox as his body contends with the limited resources available to him.
A survivor of two netherworld attacks on Naboo, he bears scars both new and old of survival as someone unable to hold their own. Debris and barely missed swipes have marred his skin, most noticeably on his face. His family had been doing well enough prior to the first attack he could remember from the nether creatures.
The more recent attack however had seen both of his parent's and a number of his relatives taken from him along with many others he had called friends. Causing the dim smile he wore as a child to sink further into a perpetual scowl. The severity of his expression only helped by the facial scarring he bears.
The other easily noticeable marring is on the skin around his hands. Showing the wear and tear of survival along with what effort he could give to the rebuilding of Naboo. While not as physically capable as others his age, he is notably faster. Either because of his slight build, or simply achieved by channeling the long carried fear of the nether creatures.
With an angular face and sharp features, the most people tend to see of him are the green of his eyes, the spots of ink along with the piercings he has gotten since taking to the streets with his small group of survivors. Wearing an oversized hooded jacket and jeans complete with hand me down boots, nothing about him is worthy of note aside from the promise of trouble in his eyes.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Kav firmly believes that there is no karmic system or anything of the like in the universe. That there is no greater being in the galaxy that doles out justice or has some greater plan in mind for every being that has lived or will live. That fate is tied to how determined one is and how willing they are to seize the moment.
Holding himself to the same measure, his word is his life and he does not promise things easily. Those he cares about have earned his attention and have shown that they hold the same value. Everyone else is merely a bargain or a wrong day away from only acting for themselves and showing their true colors.
How does your character act? How do they think? Do they have any deeply held beliefs or phobias?
STRENGTHS
Adaptable - Having survived the troubles of Naboo twice now, Kav is one of the craftier teens that remain in the wake of destruction.
Dependable - When Kav puts his word on the line, he carries through with whatever was agreed upon.
WEAKNESSES
See It Through - Once his word is given, he will see it through.
Dogmatic - A set of made up rules shared by his parents has kept him alive even through the worst of times. Those rules however do not extend very far around him.
HISTORY
The son of the late Carmila and Vabo Shelt, Kav is what remains of his line.
Born in the middle class of Naboo, life was at first easy for the young boy and his family. His grandparents were overly doting, and his uncle found every reason under the sun to spend time with his nephew. Even taking him on a few adventures across Theed to find particularly sweet treats when his father Vabo would forget them on anniversaries. Life was a splendid time for the Shelt family. The day the first attack finally came to an end, and those that survived took stock, was the beginning of harder times for his family.
Suddenly gone were the cushy jobs and light atmosphere.
Rebuilding not only the physical but the mental aspects of their daily lives. It was easy enough to rebuild the walls. To paint them in the same way his grandparent's had originally had them. But the sound of joyous noise never returned. Kav's uncle had gone to fetch them. And none of them had returned to the safe house. His father had never gotten over letting his brother leave the relative safety of the shelter. Had never forgiven himself for something well out of his control. It had ate the man alive until the day his end came. Carmila, his mother, changed from loving and devoted mother to the backbone of their family.
Thrust into the responsibility when Vabo could not retain a job because of his growing addictions to deal with his self appointed shame. Eventually turning out her husband before he could drain any more resources than they could shoulder.
His mother had tried to explain it as best she was able. Had tried to make sure Kav understood the why of what she did. But a child could not be expected to understand. He only knew that money was the problem. His father hurt, and his mother worked. Tirelessly at that. No longer as bright as he seemed to remember her. Always seeming tired and drawn thin when she would help him with schoolwork. Distant even when sitting beside him. He didn't understand why his parents were so angry with each other when they looked at one another as if they had found the greatest thing on Naboo.
All the while learning from both of them about the world they now lived in. Teaching him as much as they could as the world continued onward around them. Trouble with supply shipments forcing both parents to instruct him on how little to trust anyone. Lessons bored into him as though his life depended upon it. Requiring his attention with every hushed whisper to watch out for untrustworthy people.
Both shared warnings of certain people that often conflicted with the other. Never speaking to the other before trying to impart their wisdom on the child they had brought into the world. Both passionate about making sure their son knew what was best, and how to act accordingly. Both confusing him further as he looked at everyone with skeptical eyes. Always wondering about their intent. Always worried about what anyone had meant with their words. Wondering if their words held any value besides just getting what they wanted.
With time, Vabo and Carmila had begun to reconcile. His father clean and functioning while bringing with him a stable job. His mother finally achieving the position she needed to spend more time at home to relax and breath deep with relief. The light that had seemed gone from both of them slowly returning as their home was once again a bit more lively than it had been. Their sudden ease was a worrying thing for their son given all the warnings of trouble they had laid upon him.
And when the Nether portals opened once more, only he was prepared.
He'd been caught outside of their home when it started. The alarms and screams his first cue to run. To survive. The lesson of his uncle not lost on him as he vainly hoped for his parent's safety. Nearly losing his own life when he tried to save another only to be pushed aside like trash.
The warnings and half-truths his parents had shared with him being validated as the crisis bloomed.
When the rebuilding began, Kav fell in with three others. Friends that had formed through strained daily meetings after school. His daily life now gone as the world continued to spin once more. Bonded by the same sentiment that Kav carried within himself as they found a place to hide while they nursed their wounds.
