Age23
SpeciesAstrian
GenderFemale
Height5'8
Weight159lbs
Force SensitiveYes.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Her hair is thick and dark, a deep sable-black that often spills into a braided warrior's tail or a rough tie behind her head. When unbound, it falls in jagged waves, uneven from her own trims between missions. Her eyes are a striking steel-gray, reflecting a cold, focused intensity more often than warmth—though flickers of her mother's softness surface when her guard is down. When her emotions rise, those eyes seem to catch the light strangely—like a pair of moons behind dark clouds. Those who knew Aayla Shan, would notice that Kayla's eyes are nearly identical to hers. She stands at 5'6, her frame is considered a mix of athletic and wiry.

Her facial structure blends the strong angles of her Mandalorian heritage—a firm jawline, sharp cheekbones—with the more subtle features of her mother: a straight nose, expressive brows, and full lips that often twist into a smirk when challenging authority.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Kayla Shan believes that honor is not earned through titles or bloodlines, but through actions. She was raised in a world that valued strength and precision. Her father's Mandalorian traditions taught her that power must always be tempered with purpose, while her mother's Jedi discipline showed her that compassion is meaningless without the strength to protect. For Kayla, the Jedi Code isn't a cage; it's a guide, but one that requires constant reevaluation. She respects it, but refuses to let it silence her individuality or her instincts. To her, her legacy is both a burden and a challenge she doesn't want to be a mere reflection of her parents, but she also won't dishonor their paths.

To her, the Force isn't something to be controlled, but a conversation—an invitation to listen, feel, and act. Now if that conversation is proper or not, that's up to others. To Kayla, freedom of choice is the most sacred thing she can protect, and she will fight to preserve it, even if it means standing against the very institutions that seek to control it. In her eyes, a true Jedi isn't one who follows orders without question, but one who listens to the Force and makes their own path, no matter how difficult it may be. This of course, puts her at odds with many people.

STRENGTHS
Force Sensitive: Kayla has force abilities, and possesses an unexplained level of perception unique to her.

Quick Thinker: Kayla is very quick on her feet, and able to adapt on the fly.

Capable Combatant: Kayla is very skilled at combat, having access to Mandalorian and Alchaka techniques.

WEAKNESSES

Short Tempered: Kayla is easy to provoke and gets worked up easily, which can make her hard to work with.

Force Over-sensitivity: Kayla's unique status as a Astrian puts her at a massive disadvantage in regards to the force. Being cut off from the force not only causes her harm, and force spirits are able to actually harm her physically.

Questionable Sanity: Kayla's 'sight' sometimes has her talking and seeing people that others can not interact with. This makes people believe she's crazy.

HISTORY

Born of Jedi, raised in their shadows—Kayla Sakadi Shan is a child of conflict and consequence. Raised quietly within the Silver Jedi Concord, she is the living embodiment of a choice her parents made: to love despite the Code, to create life despite tradition. Now, with a galaxy teetering on the brink of war once again, Kayla must decide whether she will follow the path of the Jedi, the path of the warrior, or carve her own way in a galaxy that sees her as a mistake.

Kayla's early childhood was quiet—but never simple. Raised mostly on outpost worlds or distant enclaves, far from the core of the Jedi Order, her parents tried to shelter her from the weight of the Council's judgment. They trained her not just in the Force, but in survival, instinct, and balance. From Kadan, she learned tracking, hand-to-hand combat, and the Mandalorian mindset of grit and loyalty. From Aayla, she was taught finesse, discipline, and the art of listening to the subtle currents of the Force.

Overtime however, her parents lines of work kept them further, and further away from her. This left her in the care of a Jedi Order that didn't know how to handle her, and, she turned to becoming a troublemaker; not unlike her parents in the past.

As Kayla grew up, so too did the tension within her. Her Force sensitivity developed in unconventional ways—subtle, elusive, and hard to categorize. She had rare premonitions, finding that she picked up flickers of emotional echoes in others, and felt more centered not in meditation but in motion; she always needed something to do. Maybe she had a future as a potential Shadow for the Jedi Order, but that eluded her. Needless to say, became more and more in conflict with her Jedi mentors.

However, there's a darker side to her gift. At times she felt uncontrolled surges of emotion, flickers of anger inherited from her mother, and the burden of legacy pressing down on her. Upon reaching a certain age, she left the Order, feeling they had nothing to offer her, and took to living within Coruscant working in the under levels for several years. After running into several bouts of trouble, she left and joined with the Galactic Alliance, enlisting as a medic.

She hopes to figure out where her parents went, but until then, she's going to keep pushing ahead. She now serves in the 44th Combat Company.
