STRENGTHS
Assault Loadout: Fittingly for an assault starfighter, the K-Wing is outfitted with four incinerator-class plasma rail guns, two proton torpedo launchers and two primary Ion-X cannons.
Relentless: The K-Wing is not only capable of taking a beating and continuing on with the fight, it is made to be easily maintained and repaired.
WEAKNESSESTurning Circle: Unfortunately the overall maneuverability of the K-Wing has been noted as somewhat less than optimal, making it less than ideal for engaging in dogfights with interceptors or other more nimble classes of starfighters.
Big Boy: At fifty meters across and half that in length, it is also the resident big fish in any hangar bay. As a result the K-Wing is always fielded in smaller squadron numbers.
DESCRIPTIONKDY-457 Assault Starfighter was conceived to be the go to starfighter for any combat operation that requires… a less than delicate touch. Commonly dubbed and known as the “K-Wing” due to the shape of its S-Foils assume when fully deployed, it has been fully kitted out to deal a tremendous amount of sustained damage over an extended period of time, with its four incinerator-class plasma rail guns definitely bringing the hurt. That pair of scaled up Baragwin Ion-X cannons cannot be overlooked either, dealing a punishing amount of kinetic force with every shot even as the ion strips shields and disables defenses.
On the flip side, ablative armor and innovative cap drains afford it a rugged amount of durability, meaning it cannot just deal out damage, it can certainly take it, too. Which is admittedly handy given that it has a somewhat less-than-ideal banking ability, meaning that it should be used more for direct assaults than to nimble dogfights. To help compensate for this drawback, the K-Wing features an array of interference and countermeasures to decrease enemy effectiveness, incorporating targeting jammers, predator drives and even an Offensive Combat Command Strategic Intelligence unit for better squadron cohesion.
