Designed from the ground up to be Kyprin Engineering's mainline longrange racing offering, the KE-35 "Blackstar" was an incredibly modular racer with a sleek design and powerful engines. Unlike racers built for in-system tracks or short one sector jaunts, the Blackstar maintained serviceable armor and shields in order to adequately protect the pilot or crew from the rigors of space such as debris and pirates. The roughly arrowhead-shaped vessel was also equipped with a pair of gimble mounted laser cannons and a single warhead launcher but its modular design and kit packs which were also sold by Kyprin Engineering could potentially expand on these shortcomings. Unlikely to win in a straight race against a smaller starfighter-class racer in atmosphere due to its thrust to weight ration and heavier armor, it excels in long-range with its advanced hyperdrive and Nav Bypass system which allowed snap judgments of a pilot and quick course changes mid-hyperspace jump. The vessel made its first debut on the Rimward Trade League's Imynusoph Run.
