K E B O S

"To live each day not knowing whether you'll make it to the next. That's what being top dog is about."

Name: Kebos
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Species: Human
Ethnicity: Fathalian
Homeworld: JanFathal
Force Sensitive: Negative
Kebos was born under a name forgotten through time. None who knew it before are breathing or relevant now. He picked up his current moniker from a childhood story he remember being read to him by his mother. He lost her at a young age due to gang violence brought onto his family by his father. The streets of JanFathal were not safe for most when Kebos was young. Only the strong survived and, for many years, Kebos' father was the strongest. He ruled the JanFathal underworld without remorse. Though, with power comes those who challenge it. Kebos' father had let his guard down at the wrong time and it led to his wife's death. This devastated him. Kebos never forgave him or himself for her death. One night, Kebos set out on his own, seeking his own path to power. One far away from the streets that took his mother.
Young Kebos found work in a starport, fixing whatever piece of metal with an engine came through. It wasn't an honest business for sure. The owner cheated hundreds of travelers out of credits, but Kebos earned his due so he questioned none of it. He was sure none of the scammed earned an honest credit in their lives. He learned a thing or two from some of them. They never really paid him much mind so they talked and talked. He was a fly on the wall. One evening, Kebos caught word of a group of mercenaries looking for fresh blood. His curiosity got the better of him so he looked into the tip. Lucky for him, they needed someone who knew their way around an engine.
The job was simple: Ambush a banking convoy, hijack the credit transport, get out. Security would be light. Easy money. Or, so he thought. Anxiety and adrenaline were doing the tango in Kebos' stomach as he waited. The others were ready and waiting as well. The convoy soon came into position, a little later than expected but nothing to worry about. As the ambush was launched, Kebos was stunned to see that his father was one of the few guards protecting the convoy. His hesitation was immediately noted by the others who barked at him to focus up. He shook it off and kept on mission. However, before Kebos could pull his gun, the mercenaries were surrounded by police. It appeared that their ambush was an ambush. Kebos surrendered quickly, throwing his gun to the ground and putting his hands in the air, realizing the odds were against him. The others did as well.
Some days later, Kebos found himself locked in a cell for the next few years. He got off lucky because he was young and didn't even draw his weapon. He constantly wondered what his father was doing there. Did he give up the street life and went straight edge? He couldn't believe it. He supposed his father had his own way of dealing with the grief of Kebos' mother's death. Kebos was unlucky enough to go down the path he was afraid of. He only had some regrets. Plenty of time to think on those while on the inside. Later in his sentence, Kebos came into direct conflict with the prison's top dog, a twi'lek named Gorhett. Top dog ran the prison on the lower levels. The warden was at the top in name, but the top dog really ran things. Everyone respected or feared him. Most of the time it was both. Towards the end of his sentence, Kebos stopped paying his daily tribute to the twi'lek. He felt as though he paid his dues and he owed nothing else to Gorhett. Gorhett retaliated. He sent several of his goons to try and convince Kebos that paying his tribute would be in his best interest. Kebos denied them all. Unfortunately for him, things got physical quickly.
After a few beatings, Kebos started to get smart. Instead of struggling to survive to the end of his sentence, Kebos wanted to make Gorhett pay. He scoured the prison, recruiting others to take down the top dog. Most were not willing to fight against Gorhett. He had too much power. Though, there those that grew tired of his reign as well. He was more of a greedy and fat rat than a real top dog. A war had begun in the prison. The guards paid it no mind. More of them dead meant less prisoners to have to look over. It was a blood bath. Both sides casualties were piling up. An idea had eventually crossed Kebos' mind. He would fight Gorhett 1 vs 1 to the death. He knew there was no guarantee he would win, but he didn't want any more people dying for him. Gorhett agreed to the fight. The two met in the yard. No weapons. Just bare knuckles. Kebos was winning the fight until Gorhett tried shanking Kebos, but the twi'lek was old and Kebos was quick. He dodged the shank and managed to wrestle it from Gorhett before picking it up and stabbing Gorhett in the throat. He bled out quickly as the life poured out of him. Kebos stood tall. Bloodied and bruised, but victorious. He took over as top dog of the prison until his release a few years later. In his remaining time, he made some connections on the outside so that he'd be set up with something when his time came. He was introduced to a Djonas Vile of Naboo. Djonas offered him a job as an enforcer. Working for Djonas promised Kebos good money and a life once he got out. So, Kebos took his offer.
Some years later, Kebos was living large as one of Djonas' top enforcers. Wherever Djonas needed some extra discipline brought onto someone, Kebos was the first to be called. That was until Djonas' empire came crumbling down at the metaphorical hands of the cataclysm of Naboo. Djonas was left with almost nothing, rendering Kebos with nothing as well. He was smart enough to have saved up enough credits to get off world and get started on his own elsewhere. Kebos still had a healthy list of contacts. One of which was a Sith Empire agent, Kimora Min. Some time ago, Kimora had offered Kebos a place in the Sith Empire. A place where he could grow and become something greater than he's ever been. There was a time when he would not dare find himself in that position. He was certain the Empire would try and control him and use him at their leisure. But, he had no other options. If he tried to go anywhere else, he'd be snuffed out before he could get started. He contacted Kimora who then gave him what he needed in order to get set up. It would be a small beginning, but Kebos had the smarts and tenacity to turn it into something greater. Maybe, one day he'd grow too powerful for even the Empire to keep in check. Though, he humbled himself for the time being. Coruscant was not built in a day.
